Layered jams, jellies or preserves?

I feel like a mad scientist in the kitchen sometimes...

I'm still pretty new to canning, but I've successfully put up strawberry jam and syrup, peach slices and applesauce from standard approved recipes (I did add vanilla and cinnamon to the peaches). But--there's a jam contest coming up in town and it got me thinking. I'd like to recreate my favorite cocktail in jam form, possibly by layering cranberry, orange and peach jams in one jar.

Is this even possible? My plan was to cook each jam separately then layer them into the jars and process. Do you think the layers would stay fairly separate? And would they be safe to store? I'm visualizing a sunset in a jar :-)
