Here is something that I saved when I asked, hope it helps. Here are three methods to post photos in either the Gallery or Discussion area. I see enough people asking I thought I would post it. Ok, you have two easy ways to do it and one hard way 1) For quick posting: Go to www.tinypic.com. Click the "Browse" button to find the picture you want to post from your computer. Select the picture then click "Host It". After a few moments (depending on connection speed and size of the image) a few tags will appear at the bottom. Simply copy and paste the entire contents of the "Tag" entry into your forum post. Viola, you have posted a picture. 2) Recommended:Start a photobucket album (www.photobucket.com). Every time you post a picture, you will have a "Tag" entry to cut and paste into your forum posts. This is the benefit over the other online photo album sites. 3) Most difficult: Go to a picture you have posted in your Webshots or other album. Right click on the photo and choose "Properties". You will see the image url. Copy this URL and paste it into your forum post. In front of the url add (img src=" including the quote but change the ( to a At the end of the pasted url add "> including the quote. This process will work to link to any photo on the internet. This will link back to your Webshots or other hosted photo. That is photo posting 101. Good Luck. A word of caution. Do not post a link back to tinypic in the "Optional URL Link". At times, people post undesirable pictures on tinypic.com. You do not want anyone to accidently browse to the next anonymous post to find an undesired photo. craig

This is a question that has been answered hundreds of times on these forums. A simple search will reveal that an excellent tutorial is available on the frequently asked questions (FAQ) pages. I give Laperouse credit for at least broaching the subject of file size. As I said on another recent thread, photos can be either a blessing or a curse to forum postings. Monster photos which include the HUGE files to support their super resolution are becoming a major problem on the Internet. It is senseless (and rude) to include this much data when all of the photos are only displayed at 72 pixels. If you are going to post photos -- especially multiple photos -- learn how to reduce the file size. It is easy to do and is offered free at many websites. Additionally, if you wish to display multiple photos, you really should either just provide clickable thumbnails or provide clickable links inserted into the text. The real question to be asking here is how small can I make the desired image file and still get my point across? A common feature offered on many cameras and imaging programs is an email feature that will automatically reduce the image resolution to acceptable size for an email  which is also perfect for inclusion in these forums. It is also preferable to crop your photos to eliminate all of the clutter that really adds nothing to the photo message other than adding needless, time consuming file bulk. The GardenWeb instructions linked to above have lots of information but are dated. It is not necessary to keep your image filesize under 60k. It does help to keep the overall picture size to 900 pixels wide or less and to keep the file size to 600k or less. Many people use free webhosting services such as photobucket, there are instructions there also.
