Tell me about pickled green beans ...

... promise they'll be crisp? Really?

I've never pickled anything before (stuck to tomatoes and jam) and don't even particularly care for most pickles. But for some reason the recipe from Emeril that someone posted sounds really tasty, enough so that I've crammed a row of bush beans into my vegetable patch to try it out.

Is there anything I do or don't do to make sure I end up with nice crunchy pickles? Because I can't think of anything less appetizing than a soggy pickled green bean, frankly, and I just have trouble imagining anything coming out the other end of a BWB and still being crisp.
