Sweet bread for hot cross or easter babka

Ever wanted to make a sweet bread for easter? I make a decent sweet bread by using 2 eggs, a 1/3 to 1/2 cup margerine or butter, 2 cups warmed skim or regular milk, enough flour to make a dough, either a half cup sugar or a 1/3 cup honey, teaspooon salt, and the all important mace at 1/2 teaspoon. Allow it to rise, punch down and knead well, then form into a round ball for a babka or into small balls (ping pong size) for hot cross buns and place these into a square pan and allow to rise. Some raisins or candied fruits can be added to the dough at the final kneading. For the hot cross buns, the icing is just a mixture of some orange extract, confectioners sugar, 2 tablespoons of margerine or butter and hot water to mix it to a thick paste. Use a spoon or a decorating nozzle to allow it to spread (like a ribbonb) onto the top of the rolls in a criss-cross pattern. I like to add a bit of citric acid to the orange icing to give it a bit of tartness and zip.
