Too late?

I found this site while googling for ground cherry cultivation tips. This is my first post--hello! :-) Is it too late to start them from seed? I guess I'll try a few and see what happens. Why not--I started everything else late! I've not had them fresh, but dried they are the same size as raisins and less sweet. I'm sure they'd be great in muffins, cookies, granola, etc. Thanks!
