Its available almost everywhere now, well at least in my area you can find it at box stores and most nurseries. I use it on everything from orchids to edibles.

Unfortunately, not available at Lowes, Home Depot or Walmart stores in Jacksonville. I'm sure I can find it in the nurseries. Looks like it runs around $12 a gallon.

I use it and I love it. It's a great Fert for summer use since it's so mild and won't burn on foliage.

I love it and use it on everthing including orchids, veggies and bananas (thanks Robin). Our dog goes nuts over the smell, but it goes away in a few days.
The last gallon I purchased I got at Wal-Mart(they don't carry it any longer and have cut back alot on their gardening department) I think I paid $11. I also picked up a quart at Ace Hardware, forgetting I had the gallon. Old age is setting in. LOL

Yeah, I was wondering if the neighbors have noticed the smell and wonder what the heck stinks over in Carol's yard?!? LOL! It sure has a certain look to it, too, that one cannot deny.

Funny, I like the smell. It reminds me of the smell of the ocean. It smells better than Black Hen, but then most things do.

I mixed up a 30 gallon garbage can full one time. I spread it all over my backyard. It smelled so bad, and I am not kidding here, vultures smelled it and flocked to my back yard. There were 3 of them sitting in my trees looking for where the dead fish were.

I've been using it for years,though I'm not crazy about the smell,though it attracts flies when I'm mixing it,which the lizards love.Tried Black Hen once recently,good stuff but PHEW! Brought it home with the windows down and the a/c on,but I was still gagging.Like to get some more but have to get a gas mask first!

I love fish emulsion, I also love Black Hen but mine doesn't smell all that bad, unless it gets wet in the bag, then it stinks... but dry is no smell, and when I throw it on it only has a slight smell for a day or two... maybe your's had gotten wet, in the bag ? sally

I use it almost exclusively as a starter now. I have too much garden and not enough time or money to be using it as a general fertilizer.

I used it once. It was a minor disaster. The dogs loved it so much I couldn't keep them from rolling in it. They were rolling all over my flowers! Then I took a break to go in the house and one of them chewed the lid off the bottle. And the DH complained about the smell. I know it is good stuff but too much trouble for me. :o)

I was happy to discover it too, but ended up with disaster like you plus all raccoons from the area came to my garden at night, dug everything around distroying all plants in beds and all pots were up side down! Good lesson learned! Never ever use it again!

I found one that was supposed to be orderless, but it still smelled really bad. But I use it for my orchids, they love it. :o) And since I've been useing rain water they look so much better. City water has too much chlorine in it.

Check Winn-Dixie, they were carrying the powdered version of fish emulsion. Does not carry the smell that the liquid does, and costs less.

I still have some that I abandoned after I used it in a new bed and the puppy dug up and ate every single plant. I may try it again, with a different puppy - or in the front yard where he can't get to it.

Yes, I would definately use where a dog couldn't get to it. Often they'll roll in it and have it all over them. Phew!!
