Mow that it is cleaned up and potted, leave it alone. It has one warm/hot parent, so temperature should not be an issue. If it is in a tank with others that are doing ok, it should also. Too much fussing is not good for any orchid.

I HOPE that you don't have a plant virus. A few years ago, I had about 30 plants that I had grown from seed (got from the plant exchange here, actually). It was great, I had some papaya plants, a bunch of guavas, aloe, dragon fruit and even some tiny finger lime seedlings. Long story short, I went to a wedding shower, the party favors that were given were plants and I got a small coffee plant. I put it in the bathroom and months later noticed black spots on the leaves. I figured it was nothing. Months later I noticed similar spots on all my other plants. Then I had seedlings of artichokes that I noticed had them. I sent some of the artichoke seedlings with spots to the Agricultural extension in my state, they sent me a report saying it's some plant virus. Problem with that is, there is NO way to cure them! It was terrible, I had to throw out ALL my plants! I was so sad about that one. So, I don't buy plants from Lowes (which is where the coffee plant was from), or any other places that sell plants en masse. I just hope that you don't have a virus, but you can send a specimen to the ag extension. They don't charge, you just pay for postage. Good luck, hope it's something trivial.

Anrev, It is Rhizoctonia. Caused by too much watering, it is contagious. It spreads. Your plant needs air, take every leaf off that has those spots on them, WASH YOUR HANDS with anitbacterial soap after you touch the leaves, and let it dry out for awhile. The plant needs some air, so see if you can trim just a couple of branches down, I don't know how big it is, but if you can trim a couple branches down, it will allow more air to pass through the plant. Keep it on the dry side for awhile, the new leaves should be alright when they come out.

Purple, I've had tomato blight before, both late blight and early blight (though never on seedlings), and I don't think this is it--the spot color is different and it isn't spreading in the same way Ken, I had them in the greenhouse in the sun for their first 3 weeks, then put them outside for an hour or so and brought them back into the greenhouse, then left them out for longer periods of time. They still come in at night as we're still getting freezes--I think the lowest temp they've been exposed to is 45 (though with strong wind it might affect them as if it were colder). I was hoping this was just environmental stress, wanted to check if it looked like a disease anyone knew. Thanks for your time and thought. Joanna
