Nice photos, but I'd like to see them as large as you usually post. What's the thinking behind the new smaller size? My favorites are the three I have: Robert Lee Batt, Roman Cohort and Cognizant Dissonant. And I like the color combos and watermarks on Photon Torpedo and Trooper. Don't forget to post anything with a pinched/pleated throat.

WOW!!They are all so beautiful,I can not pick a favorite one.Right at the start, I thought og the first one has to be my favorite, and then I see some more thats just as pretty,if not more so.Just gorgeous, all of them.

I'm guessing Fern Stone is some woman's name, don't you think? It has a good height and strong scapes and, unlike many of my reds, holds up pretty well to the sun with minimal splotching. I noticed the diamond dusting on the Cherub's Kiss photo, too. I never noticed it in person. Julia, I get a kick out of the names Curt comes up with. There's the Star Wars theme, the B-52s and other music themes, the racier names . . . I enjoy them all. Thanks, all, for the compliments!

Thanks for the compliments, everyone -- I'm going to get a swelled head! And thanks for the chuckle, maryl. My wish list is huge just because of the photos I see everyone else post. Rita, I don't think Safe Island is a bi-tone. This was the FFO, plus the lighting wasn't the greatest. When Aztec Beauty and Inherited Wealth bloomed at the same time, I couldn't believe the size difference. Love those big blooms . . .

Thanks for commenting, everyone! Nancy, Dances With Giraffes is super tall! I've never measured, but it is probably close to 5 feet here (I got it 2 years ago). I have it by a couple of other tall ones, Getting Airborne and Up And At 'Em. That is monarda - mine have really started blooming over the past week or so. That particular one is called Peter's Fancy Fuchsia, I bought it from Bluestone a few years ago, I have a few clumps of it. It gets really tall. Julia, you're right, the red bee balm is harder to keep a clump of... I've had a couple that have died out (Fireball is one), Jacob Klein does pretty well here. Most of my non-red bee balm went bonkers and grew like crazy since last year, I had to rip out a ton of it and I completely removed it from a couple of areas where it was getting into too many other plants.

About the Clarksville of the song: It has often been presumed that the song refers to Clarksville, Tennessee, which is near Fort Campbell, Kentucky, the home of the 101st Airborne Division, which was then serving in Vietnam. However, according to songwriter Bobby Hart, that was not the case. Instead, according to Hart, "We were just looking for a name that sounded good. There's a little town in northern Arizona I used to go through in the summer on the way to Oak Creek Canyon called Clarkdale. We were throwing out names, and when we got to Clarkdale, we thought Clarksville sounded even better. We didn't know it at the time, [but] there is an Army base near the town of Clarksville, Tennessee — which would have fit the bill fine for the storyline. We couldn't be too direct with The Monkees. We couldn't really make a protest song out of it — we kind of snuck it in." Although "Clarksville," a common U.S. place name, is in the song title, the video accompanying the song on the Monkees' TV show showed a sign pointing to "Clarkesville", which is a much more rare spelling, now used only for a town in Georgia. Chris they are lovely, and I agree with Debra. I like the large photos. I can't pick a favorite from all of these, but I do love Roman Cohort. It is such a fabulous plant.

Debra and Kay -- I agree about the size of the photos, but I'm still having computer issues. I'm working from my husband's computer and am having to resize photos through Photobucket. My choices appear to be limited there -- I had to choose between this size and a gigantic one that filled the whole screen. I'll keep messing with it until I get my regular computer back.

What a stunning collection of blooms! You have so many lovely watermarks... we don't do well with those here unless we have exceptionally warm temps. It was a really tough choice,but ROMAN COHORT was my favorite of the bunch.

Ok, since you're having computer issues, we'll settle for the smaller size. LOL We've just been spoiled for so long by your larger photos. I love them big, but I can adjust temporarily to the smaller ones.

OOOOOOO Chris these are gorgeous even at a smaller size. I grow several of these here and love every one of them!
Magic Dragon sure is a standout in this bunch. Photon Torpedo is now on my ever growing wish list. Your Double Donnie has a lot of color difference from mine. Here is my pic for comparison.

Well, it would be easier to list the ugly ones than all the pretty one. Oh wait, there are no ugly ones LOL! My favporites- TROOPER is just lovely, CATCH THE WIND is so pretty with the watermark and lovely color, love the orange and yellow on MAGIC DRAGON.

Thanks, everyone. As most of you know, I live for watermarks, but worry that I'm getting too one-dimensional with my daylilies. Greywood's Lofty Lizzy was a real departure for me to purchase for that reason.

Nancy, I do see a color difference with Double Donnie. I've had mine for about five years and, while it's never been a prolific bloomer, the color suits me fine.

Well Chris, I do like comparing pics with others' pics so we can see difference over zones, soil, etc. Your Double Donnie is beautiful as it is, and of course there will be differences, I just like seeing them close together rather than one at a time....LOL...I did not realize how bad my pic looks compared to yours either until now....LOL

Chris, I think you must have introduced me to watermarks (swoon!).

I really like Worlds Collide, Roman Cohort, Photon Torpedo, and Cognizant Dissonant. Robert Lee Batt is nice, too. And I now own Swallow Tail Kite, but it hasn't bloomed for me, yet.
