healthy looking plants but no blooms or buds!

So far I have some rather healthy plants but I have yet to see a bloom and no sign of a bud! I am in a draught area but I try to water them at least every two weeks. I have used a bloom enhancing fertalizer but no luck. I did get them at Wal-Mart but even so they seem to be healthy and doing great... Just no blooms or buds... Not even a stalk for a bud to grow on.... any suggestions??? I see them all around me and wonder why mine aren't blooming! HELP!!!

Did you buy the plants this year?? Were they in a pot or a box??

Now, If they were in a pot, it's possible they could have already bloomed or been to young to bloom. If so, they will probably bloom next year. It's also possible they are late bloomers and you will see a scape(bloom stalk) sometime later this summer.

If they were in a box, it will take them atleast a year to bloom. More than likely two years. Of course there are those plants that will bloom this year, but not likely.

As long as your plants are looking healthy, just be patient(this is the hard part of growing daylilies) they will reward you with beautiful blooms soon.

I may be wrong, but if you are in a drought area I would be watering more than every 2 weeks - more like every 2 days!

Also, they shouldn't need any fertilizer. Save that for the annuals.

Seeing the same resemblance I call these types "broccoli sedum". Your bright pink one is probably one of the common varieties, you might be able to get the cultivar name just walking into a nearby outlet selling flowering perennials currently in season.

The lemon tree I plan on taking, but the other tree is a tangerine tree the leaves are all drawn up it has some type of disease should I cut it back, I gave tried everything to restore the leaves Iam thinking of just cutting the entire plant back. Please enlarge hopefully you can tell me what's wrong with it.

I agree with Embothrium...climbers often will not bloom as much until they're a size they want to be. You have some huge plants with few blooms...I bet they will eventually bloom if you give it more time. What do you feed them? Maybe they're getting too much nitrogen. The small plants of course are not going to put on a big show. I'd figure out why they're still small. IMO planting a very small plant in the ground is not as reliable as planting it in a pot and growing it on awhile until it has a bigger root system. If it just sits there in the ground I'd pot it back up and see if it doesn't get bigger.

Without a doubt! Thrips. I have them and its a constant fight. They destroy all my buds. They are sucking insects and if you grow Gardenia's or Hibiscus, they are Thrip magnets. I'm considering cutting them down but my Gardenia is huge and beautiful. A good control is Spinosid (not sure of the spelling) . You have to spray every two weeks while the buds are forming. It is organic and safe to use. Thrips will attack all orchid buds. They love Vandas and Phals but will go after anything they can get their miserable mouths on! Sorry about your plant.
