The froggies just started coming when I started putting in the ponds. The toads came first then the frogs. John was pouting for a while that we only had toads and he heard the first frogs call one night and we went out and hunted for him with the flashlight. Thus began the nightly frog hunt, lol. Bonnie the ginger is easy to grow. It didn't do as well this year as usual. The leaves got burned badly and this is the first nice flower stalk. Usually they do much better. Mine overwinter outside in a pot. I am sure for you they would overwinter in the ground. They are really easy. Remind me in the spring and I'll pull you out a piece. They don't go dormant until the dead of winter. I divided them last year and my sister took a bunch home with her. Hong its just the wood trim on the house I want to paint. I love the color of the brick. Just don't like the blue trim. I don't know what made the shredded white grow so huge. Its right behind the pond and the statue so I guess that shaded the roots and it liked it, lol. You should have seen it before I stripped a lot of the great huge leaves off. Then I realized they were shading the flowers and had to let a lot grow back. Going out to get my list done and Take the pollen from Hawaiian Double white and shredded white. Gonna cut off a flower and get it out. Thats the only way I think I will find it in that one. I want to pollinate Miz Scarlett with it.

I know what you mean about buying it then think about it later...I try to do that..but this time around...I think I was so overwhelmed...I got 'Stupid' !! :( As far as putting it all away... I really had to work hard at it today...finding places to squeeze things in. I'll have to go back to rearrange and change where they went.. that's the hardest part...and it's getting harder. Gosh, I feel one day when I'm gone, they're gonna say.. This was one 'Sick' lady...with all these dishes!! jane

OK, here goes, advice appreciated: My sheets arrived today (I ordered them on the 16th, took 10 days). I thought one of the pillow cases and the fitted sheet seemed off color compared to the other 3 cases and the flat sheet. But I thought maybe its just me and into the wash they went, on warm with 2 Tbs Vaska detergent). Once they dried it was very obviously different. The fitted sheet is a dark slate gray and the others are a cocoa-y brown. They are also HORRIBLY wrinkled, I mean REALLY, REALLY wrinkled. I keep reading here about WE's wonderful customer service. Is this something I should pursue? I really don't want to have to spend $$ to ship back or go thru the bother. Suggestions? TIA, Cathi

We took early possession (because we had to be out of our house) and we moved in on Thursday (the 11th of August). We were living in a 1925 Colonial Revival with more than 2,500 square feet and that did not include the full basement (which was a nice space) and a full attic (with its permanent staircase off the upstairs hallway). In other words, it was a massive house, and we had it stuffed to the gills. Moving into our 2,100 square foot brick ranch required some downsizing - which made me happy, happy, happy. We gave away several pieces of furniture, which also made me happy, happy, happy. And I made at least 10 trips to Goodwill with my car stuffed with boxes and bags of donations. My husband owns 90% of the stuff and furniture in our house, and it's just way too much. When I met him, I was a starving writer and I owned two bookcases, one bed (no dresser), one couch and a computer. (I lived a simple life.) So this was an opportunity to shed some of this stuff. I'm so tired of stuff. I really hate stuff. Our new house is on a crawl space (no basement) and the only storage is a small attic area over the garage (only accessible via a rickety pull-down staircase), and a shed in the back. Here are some more photos! :) The new fence went in today! Teddy is a free dog again! She cried like a baby when she was tethered in the back yard. Such a wuss. I told her repeatedly that some dogs live their LIFE on a tether, but she only cried all the more. The yard was fenced on both sides, but we needed to add a piece of connecting fence from the house to the sides. This is the privacy fence, and it was the small piece of fence.
