Christmas Lights on Mango Trees...Will it Help?

Hi all,

Just saw my extended forecast on Weather Underground for highlands.I'm at 36° on Wed, 38° on Thrsday and 34° on Friday. I've accepted the fact that I will lose my Mango Blooms, but my main concern is the tree itself. The trees are now just a little too big to cover. My main concern now is saving the tree.My question is if I wrap the trunk with some type of insulation(like the one used in the attic) and maybe use a 25 cnt C-7 on the trunk and leave some laying on the bottom of the dirt. Will this work, or because I am NOT covering it, will it just be lost in thin air. My biggest concern is Friday at 34° degrees, if it goes below a couple of degrees, well...very bad!

Here is one of the tree in question,

as you can see, I think the tree is a little too big to cover? Last year's frost I was able to cover it and had X-mas lights under them, I just think now its too wide and tall?

Any help and advise is greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance...
