Hard to capture daylily colors...(comparison pics)

Ok, so as ya'll have noticed, there are some daylilies in my yard that are HARD to capture correctly. I find, for me and my camera, they are the reds and oranges. I really have to adjust my ISO and compensate using all the gadgets on my point and shoot. I keep shooting until the display photo looks the same color as the real live thing - going back and forth between the two to make sure they are right... sometime that means LOTS of photos.

Here are some recent examples:

INNER VISION

None of these photos have been photoshopped - just adjusted the ISO on the camera

This is how it really looked to me

Too Light

This is how the camera originally shot it with no adjustment... way wrong:

Here is the clump shot:

How it looked to me:

Too Bright Orangy

Too Pink - way wrong again

CRANBERRY BABY

This was as close as I could get to the right color on this day... still not exactly right, it really was more red/less blue, but I just couldn't get it right...

Too light

Too Purple

Crazy flash - ick

Today, I got the color just right... I didn't care that it was raining on my head. I was frustrated, and I was gonna get it right.

A little too light

Too orangy-red

Totally wrong

Way wrong:

Anybody else do this... I know, sometimes it takes forever... these are not even all the exposures I took... but you get the idea.

On Inner Vision, the first time it bloomed, I thought it was REAL ugly, see:
