It's good to spoil the DH especially on his B'day.
I make chocolate angel food cakes all the time in a pan that's older than me!

If he's a smart man he's gonna like it alot! LOL

Angel food cakes are easy to make but cooling them is the most difficult. I finally learned to turn the rube upside down on a coke bottle until the pan loosens. Chocolate, vanilla, gran marnier, etc are wonderful and they are even better when you scoop out some of the inside and fill with stawberrie or blueberries and whipped cream. Now I have to go bake one. *g* Linda

Well, the cake turned out great and he loved it. It looked just like an angel food cake SHOULD look! Amazing. The pan I have has little feet on it so it can cool inverted. I follow the directions on the pan, what a concept. I got rave reviews from DH.

My mother had one of those angel food pans with the little feet. She used it so often but got rid of it in a yard sale when she moved to Florida. It was one of the things I wish she had packed up and brought along! Thanks for kindling the memory.

I'm so glad he liked it. I enjoy baking and have made a batch of Toll House cookies every week for the last 25 years. lol Oh my gosh our anniversary is next month. Guess I better get busy and plan something special.
DH loves anything lemon so I try and make a lemon meringue pie when we are invited somewhere, so he'll have something for desert he'll like. He complains that he only gets one piece though! I took one to my aunt's for Christmas once, my cousin called about an hour after we left to tell DH that he'd just finished the pie and it was sooo good! DH was fit to be tied. I did make him another the next day.

Linda thanks for reminding me about hollowing out the cake and adding strawberries and whipped cream I'd forgotten all
about that one.
