Missed You ALL!

Hi my friends. I've missed you all.

My mother's stories came to a calm and graceful end last month.

Since, I've been resting and recovering. I finally feel like I can rejoin the world, and of course the first palces that I wanted to rejoin were my garden and my garden friends.

I started an indoor garden with some of the plants that were given at her funerel, and it has become a spot of comfort and peace. I'll try to post pictures later.

Becr, I do know what you are going through and my heart goes out to you. Mother went to a nursing home, but it was in essence hospice care. It will be a very sad time for you all. We know these things come to all eventually, but it doesn't make it any easier. I will be thinking of you. Glenda

Beautiful photos Sue! I love the bella (never seen one like that before) and the one below bella with all the big pink balls of flowers is stunning.... what variety is that...you have it as kentiana? (Is that what it is? ) I thought Kentiana had much smaller flowers and leaves? anyways they are gorgeous and thanks for sharing them with us....

Theresa, so good to hear from you. :) I too have been largely absent from most of the conversations this year. Life has this thing about taking us where it wants, versus where we think it ought to. I received a promotion back in May and damned if it hasnÃ¢ÂÂt kept my tail in high gear. A lot of expectations, but the role is rewarding and I am finally settling in after almost 6 months. A shame about your computer problems, but it seems you are past that hurdle as I can read your text quite clearly. As for the tornados, God Bless you. I would probably suffer a small heart attack before the tornado ever touched ground. I very much respect the capacity of Mother Nature at her worst. Wonderful that you came through with only a few less shingles and siding. Did any of your potted hostas take the brunt of the wind ? I know it is so clichÃÂ©, but that which does not kill us only makes us stronger. Think how much better things will be in the Spring when the gorgeous foliage returns to us all. So glad you took the time to check in. Provided the gnomes donÃ¢ÂÂt crash your computer again, keep us posted since we missed most of your botanical adventures this year. You Go Girl !!! Ludi

You're BACK! After all you have endured, including MD's who treat you like 'a case', not a person, you're still HERE! Thank you for detailing everything. Thank you for showing others how to advocate for themselves. Doctors and techs need to be reoriented from 'pure science' sometimes, reminded that like them, you are A PERSON --often a frightened person. I hope you can exhale now and relax a bit. Sleep. Eat well. Try some simple breathing exercises to lower your heart rate and still your mind. You've been on the Fight/Flight mode. Time to retrain you brain and body to the 'Off Alert" mode. The KT should have at least one sign that says: "Download Here"

Thank you all. As always, gardening is such a solace. I have so many plants in my garden that my mother and I shared back and forth. I feel close to her and to my father, when my hands are in the soil.

Amber, I'm so sorry for your loss. (((((hugs)))))
You know I just lost my Mom a year ago. I found I had trouble being in the garden during the past year because the memories of her were almost too strong. I ended up crying and not spending very long. But with the new year comes renewal and instead of the memories bringing tears, now they bring smiles. And just a few tears.
Whenever you miss your mother, I'm sure you'll be able to find her in your garden.
