Just a half dozen more, and this is the last photo series before the ACS visit. I don't want to spoil TOO much of the fun.

Abies koreana 'Wellenseind'

Picea abies 'Dazzler'

Pinus parviflora 'Mini Curls'

A new unnamed variegated sport supposedly found on Pinus sylvestris 'Glauca Nana'

Abies procera [Danish Gold] - A plant under observation from Jason Hupp/Western Evergreen nursery.

Pinus parviflora 'Betsy'

Several smaller conifers together.

Acer circinatum 'Burgundy Jewel'

Wow, thank you for the flattering comments. My gardens are chaos and overwhelming to most gardeners, but I am glad some of my conehead forum buddies enjoy them. Ritmass, I'm in Washington state, near Seattle. TJ, that's a GREAT looking specimen and still wonderfully dwarf to my eyes. Looks to be 15-20 years old as well. I can only hope mine looks that nice down the road. Edwin, you're correct, it's the neighbors, who stubbornly insists on an acre of turf. Moles, watering, brown messy turf in late Summer. Fertilizer, mowing, I just don't get it but to each their own. I DO love the 'Elegantissima' as well and it will remain in my lower gardens and I'll move others out of it's way(or prune it up ever so slightly). Dave, I don't actually get popups but as Alex alluded to, it's the shrinkening of the photo space that annoys me, and most of it, once the adds at the upper portion of the screen are gone, is 40% blank! I don't use a 'smartphone', and find them still pretty dumb but I do understand their cattering to the masses. It just makes me a little less eager to post photos and visit their site. I'm not going anywhere though. Fine people like you guys and gals keep me here. -Will

Fun stuff, Spring is going berserk now and I am in gardening heaven. Not quite 80s yet but some low 70s and enough rain to make everything go. Dax, the smaller Picea pungens is 'Wisconsin Cream' that colors us mildly there because of about 1/2 day's sun. I think it will make for good scion-wood, hint hint. The engelmannii is 'Compacta'. -Will

"Abies procera 'Delbar's Cascade'. This cultivar was discovered by his parents(grandparents??), DELbert and BARbara." Will, it's named after his grandparents. Can you provide some background info about the Abies koreana 'Olhtacca'? I never came across this one. Thanks!

Your Acer circinatum is not a 'Burgundy Jewel'. In fact, it's probably not even circinatum!
'Burgundy Jewel' should have a dark purple color even now..

That Picea abies 'Dazzler' (#24 )is a beauty!
Doesn't this one look like a yellow 'Acrocona'?

From which nursery did you become this one?

Great pictures of very nice plants, as we have come to expect. 'Dazzler' caught my eye too, I guess the name is right on track. Sorry to hear about the hiatus, even if it is for a good cause.

Great photos Will, 'Dazzler' looks like it got the right name. Always look forward to your post.
Your acer photo looks correct for 'Burgundy Jewel' in the shade.

Thanks Al and Sam for making observations on the maple. I can say that it is in pretty strong shade and that it does have more purple shades earlier in the Spring. I am guessing it is correct still, but I could not say for sure. The source was someone on ebay, which is a great way to get cultivars that are mislabeled.

Edwin, it does seem to be similar to 'Acracona', both in growth rate and habit. Time will tell, though it will probably be growing in a different spot in a year or two.

Also, the variegated seedling is from Fresh Start nursery, a small one-man operation in Oregon. I believe the owner, Nathan, discovered the broom/seedling, but I'll do some research and get back to you.

Dax, you are right, and it is ironic that the very reason I don't want to move to a place with bigger space is the work I have put in already in my current home. My gardens look mature *now* but I daresay yours will be the one to visit in twenty years, not mine.

The circinatum does seem a bit on the bright side.I wonder if the bark is still deep maroon-purple in the shade?All great looking plants....I look forward to taking a few of my own pics of them!Doug
