This is a very good seller on the LA, he has exceptionally good reputation. Sells under Rich. He e-mailed me that they were ready to ship so I said send them as I am ready to plant. It has been a very cool spring but I have lots and lots to do so I might as well get started with the daylily planting.

At least I only bought half as many daylilies as I bought last spring so will not have as many to plant. Not that this will mean that there will be less planting work as I got the iris crazies and ordered 28 Siberian Iris coming next week and 1 each Japanese Iris and Spuria Iris. My bearded iris order is not done but they only start shipping in July so I have time. But I also ordered a ton of lily bulbs.

I saw a huge clump of Clarification in Coral Kincaid's garden and you will love it. I am a big fan of Norris' daylilies as well. I only have two of them so far: Mary's Baby and Belle of Ashwood. I am getting Ashwood Still Night this spring. Anyway, I will have to check out Rich's auctions in the future. Happy planting.

I saw some clump pictures of CLARIFICATION somewhere and really liked it so decided to get it when I saw it up for sale on the Lily Auction.

I have afew of Richards intros planted last spring. I have his instant rebloom collection of BELLE OF ASHWOOD, NO BLUE OXFORDS and CLARITY OF VISION. They did not rebloom last year so I am hoping they will this year. I also have CORAL MAJORITY, UP AGAINST THE SUN and SUMMER EXPLOSION.

I have got a few things from Rich and I was very pleased. Sounds like you got some good ones... I had my eye on that Clarification auction, but saving my $$ for ms. Isabella...

I'm envious. Clarification has been on my want list.

I have some 2nd yr seedlings coming out of it x 'Lavender Tomorrow'. Not sure if they will get big enough to bloom this year or not. I got them in the ground late last year and am told by club members that our climate doesn't produce a lot of 2nd yr blooms (maybe 20%).

Also envious that you can work in your garden and have your new daylilies coming in. It's been raining cats & dogs here since Th. It just finally let up but the clay is so mucky that I don't dare try to work outside yet.

My first orders are due in around May 1. I'll probably be inundated with everything arriving at once.

So far I only have bearded iris & daylilies coming but I'm really tempted to get some more Asiatic lilies, a few more roses, hostas, and a few other perennials. I started a lot of companions from seed this year too.

SWEET ISABELA is only two fans this spring. Of course, It was only one fan when it came here last year so its doing good. I really hope it blooms.

Would you believe those daylilies are still soaking and have not been planted yet? Gezz, its only four plants. I have been so busy as I am really behind on my spring projects as we had too many days either very cold or rainy or both so I have not had as many days to work in the garden this spring as I would have liked.

Got a box of lily bulbs today in the mail so have those to plant also. Hopefully tomorrow for everything.

I heard from Phil Korth that my order is shipping Monday and I would not be surprised if other daylily orders show up next week also. I know my Siberian Iris order of 27 plants is shipping Monday too. So next week will be busy with the planting.

Also just heard from Karol Emmerich and my Springwood Garden order will come next week also. Hurray! I have already planned to put three of the new 2009s from Karol in my terraces garden by the kitchen door. Going to be very busy planting.

Cripes. The mailman brought 5 boxes of daylilies today. That does not count the boxes to arrive later in the week because I was told they would ship today or tomorrow. I have to go opening them all now and unpack and put them to soak. Looks like starting tomorrow is lots of planting to do.

My Westbourne Daylilies that I bought were 2 of the boxes. I bought 17 plants and all were at least double fans, many triple fans except for WESTBOURNE SO BLUE WITHOUT TERESA. I received three bonus plants plus the extra fans so I am absolutely delightly with my new Westbourne daylilies.

Another box was a 7 fan clump of TRUELY ANGELIC from Mike Derrow.

Then there was the box from Ellen Laprise in MASS. I had bought BOB MARLY for spring of 2008 but there was some callamity and there were not enough fans. I was offered a refund but I wanted to wait. So then I asked her if she had AUTUMN ODDITY last fall and she said she would send it as a bonus. She did, plus she also sent her other intro, FLAMING FLAMINGO too. So I got 3 plants when I was owed one. Yippee!

And last but not least, I bought FABULOUS FRIEDA on the Lily Auction from Abundant Daylilies. It was abvertised as a single fan. Well It is either 5 or 7 fans, all depending on how you count the two that just about to split.

Today was a day for lots of boxes. The mailman brought five boxes and piled them on the porch this afternoon. I got a giant size box from Phil Korth and another nice big box from Karol Emmerich. Plus a box of my Siberian Iris that I ordered and two more small daylily orders. I have not even opened the boxes yet and unpacked, been too busy planting stuff that came yesterday. Earlier today the Fed Ex guy brought a box of lily bulbs that I ordered so been planting those also.

Going out to unpack now and put my new daylilies to soak so I can plant tomorrow.

Better than Christmas!

Oh, geez, the mail just came and two more boxes of daylilies sitting on my front porch. How did I manage last year? I bought twice as many daylilies last year so it had to have been worse trying to keep up.

I am planting Siberian Iris today. I have to do it today because unlike daylilies they can only have a quick dunk for a soak and can not dry out before they are planted. Those came yesterday along with the three tubs of currently soaking daylilies that were in all those boxes that arrived yesterday.

And then the UPS guy brought my order from High Country Gardens of my Salvia and Hummingbird Mint. The darn box is not even unpacked, I just dragged it inside and left it there. Have to get to it tomorrow as well as unpacking those daylilies that came today. Today was a long day in the garden and I am poofed.

You go girl... you can do it!! Just keep thinking how beautiful everything will be. That really helps get me through when my back is aching from shoveling and bending over... my shirt is soaked with sweat and I have dirt in my eye! :o) Just remember to actually get out and use that kneeling mat and gloves. I really find those two things help a ton.

All the stuping and digging and bending, my back sometimes aches but my knees are fine. My butt and hips and thigh muscles hurt and I hobble around until the soreness wears off by late the next morning. But then its back in the late afternoon as I spend another day planting. Not such a spring chicken anymore :-((

If only I lived closer, I'd give you a hand, or two.

I really don't mean to complain. I love doing things in my garden. Usually I can take it easier and what gets done that day gets done, if its not finished its done the next day. The bad part is when everything has to be done all at once like now with all the plants coming litterally all at once.

I got an order from Ridnaught Farms yesterday, and today my order from Springwood came. It is beautiful!!! Karol sent me 5 bonus plants with the 7 I ordered. I am going to be busy too. I have two plants coming from Marietta, and that is all I have ordered for now. (Except the iris for fall planting.) I have to have more beds prepared before I can plant anything else.

I was opening and unpacking boxes from yesterday. Unpacked my Hummingbird Mints and Salvia from High Country gardens and gave them a good watering as they were dry.

Then when I was unpacking my order of STELLAS LITTLE SISTER from Starstreamer daylilies, I was very pleasantly surprised to find two plants of it, so one was a bonus. Plus Carol also gave me two fans of her double intro GUY GOODFELLOW. Can't beat that. Buy one, get two free :-))

Mailman only brought one box today with three daylilies. If I didn't have 20 billion daylilies to plant from ones already arrived I could take it easy, ha, ha.

I am trying to finish up getting some daylilies in the terraces garden so I can be done with there at least and then get the flat of marigolds I bough last Friday planted in there as color and filler.

I picked up my order from Lakeside Daylilies yesterday. I was so excited because I got three bonuses: DIAMOND DUSTED BORDERS, HANDSOME ROSS CARTER, AND AGE OF MIRACLES. They are so nice looking. Although every year I think I've picked the prettiest ones, this year I am more excited than ever because I got LEA ANN WILLIAMS, which is a beautiful rose pink with a darker rose eye and gold knobby edge. I saw it at Lakeside's open gardens last year and it was so striking that I knew I would have to get it.

Now I just have to find time to plant them. It seems like it is raining constantly.
