Hi - I am a long time lurker, and have just joined to hopefully find an answer that I can't find on Google.

I live in Middle TN and we had a hail storm on Thursday, April 5. There are no scapes appearing on my daylilies yet, thank goodness, but the leaves look torn and bruised. They were looking so lush and healthy, and advanced for the time of year because of the extra warm spring.

If I trim them back to 6 or 7 inches in height, will it affect bloom this year? If so, I'll just put up with the unsightly foliage, but it sure would make me happy to cut them back!

Love to read the comments on this forum! I have many, many clumps of daylilies, but just a dozen or so varieties. I use them as landscape plants rather than as hobby plants.
