No prob. all of your trees -are- self fertlizing outdoors. If blooming happens indoors I enjoy helping them out. When the flower has been open for about a day they will have a darker pollen then they are ready to pollinate just brush ever so lightly the pollen on to the sticky tip of the center of the flower. Once pollinated the flowers pollen will become a lighter in color. Just be gentle and you only realy have to do it once. I just use a small piece of clean paper towel twisted into a thin 3-4" long stick for a pollinator. You can also get at almost any store a childs small paint set and use the clean never used little brush to pollinate. They are around $0.99 and are worth it if your tree is large. After that in a couple of days and all the petals fall off you'll see the beginnings of a citrus fruit. When they are young or stressed alot of the flowers/young fruit will drop. Do not worry it will slowly but surley year after year hold more and more fruit, till your giving bags of them away! Cross pollination between the different ones would not matter to you unless you want to raise hybrids from the seeds.

Chris, NICE job!!! Can you take a pic of the whole tree? Anirbn, My mom fell and hurt herself badly after she got out from a week in the hospital, so I totally forgot too. My bad. It started getting lighter in coloring..It was loosing it's vivid green look because the temps have gotten so cold. But I stuck it in the house and it seems to be coloring up again/. I will take a pic tomorrow..) I have been trying to grow it Bonsai style since I don't need it to be big and take up room. So it's pretty small..

Yes the female flowers have set fruits these last couple cooler dry days. Just before that I had several male flowers, which have now dropped, so when the female arrived I only had one or two males which had been stripped clean by the time I got to it, thus the plant aborted the fruit. We has just gone through a hot day/night period with lots of rain, here just outside Fredericksburg, VA. It seems like either the bees, or cucumber beetles got to it first. I try to stay organic and had not heard about Neem Oil to control the cucumber beetles, so.... maybe next year? I have another female getting ready to bloom, I think I will bag out a couple males and the female and see what happens, I hope clear sandwich bags work. Sounds like Macmex's suggestion might be the way to go, although he tapes the flowers closed.

It's forever hot and humid in where I live, so I guess i'll shake them more. *** How hot and how humid? How about just a gardening zone for us to understand your problem if you don't want to give a general geographic area? I'm not being difficult, trust me, but if the temps are too high for too long and/or the humidity is too high for too long then the pollen is not effective, it's been destroyed, and no amount of shaking the plants is going to lead to fruit set. If you go to the FAQ link at the top of this first page and click on it and then scroll down to Blossom Drop I think you'll see what I mean. And high humidity clumps the pollen making pollenization dicey as well. Carolyn
