Comments (23)Oops I just saw your earlier comment about the trim being primer. Your color samples on the wall might look different because some of the old paint might be showing through? If the Ballet White reminds you of something negative for heavens' sake avoid it. Our story: we had sorta terracotta brown walls with white trim and got so tired of the dark walls and that white trim started to feel like Victorian gingerbread prison bars. This was during lockdown so cabin fever to begin with lol. Long story short...everything in Kelly Moore 23 Swiss Coffee, top to bottom, ceiling, all trim, baseboards windows. The end result is a transformation...so soothing and open. The color was recommended by a painter and by a Realtor. You wanted an opinion and you won't be sorry. Prime the walls white first or you won't get the true color. And use 2 coats of paint. Seriously with that brown to cover. That Natural Linen is nice too. It's okay for the all over colorwash. There is no cut-off is for how dark you can go..in the decor mags and online they go all the way dark....See MorePlease help me pick paint colors
Comments (7)I would paint the walls a nice clear creamy color. The color on the walls now, appears to be a muddy color, and to me, muddy colors are very depressing. I like the arches, and I would work with them, rather than against them. Like the others, that tv, needs to go down on a stand on the wall, and nice art put on the fireplace. Someone will end up with neck problems, with that tv up there, besides the fact, that it doesnt look good there. A couch and a couple of chairs might work better, but, you can work with the sectional. A nice rug, and nice art on the wall, and some pillows on the couch with some color. You also could use a coffee table, and hopefully, you can squeeze in a floor lamp on the far corner of the couch next to the wall. Your light bulbs could possibly be contributing to the muddy look of the paint. Unless paint is really needed, I would change out all those light bulbs to led 3500 daylight type bulbs, to get rid of the yellow lighting you have. You may just find that it is enough, to brighten the room up a lot. Include bulb replacement in the kitchen, and the dining room, and hallway too....See MoreHelp me pick paint colors please.
