Picea omorika- Interesting Form

Random_Treelore

Hey Everyone-

I noticed this Picea omorika a couple of years ago in Portland. I am not sure if it is worth naming or not- if so, I've thought that 'Rockwood Pagoda' would be a nice name (after the neighborhood it is in.)

I talked with Don Howse about this tree, and he's been watching it for a while. Sometime in the 90s, a storm snapped the top off, and it grew a new spire. He also mentioned that this species has a lot of narrow forms.

What do you guys think of this? Is it unusual- or is it pretty normal for this species?
