A few years back I want to describe a scene we came home to one night. A week before Christmas, Saturday night, coming home from a fantastic Christmas party. When we left our newly built house for the party, our house was in tip top shape, ready for the holidays-our first Christmas in our new home; the fresh Christmas tree fully decorated, nutcrackers lined up all in a row on the fireplace mantle with a beautiful swag of greenery, decorated with various precious ornaments, lights, & trinkets, at least 10 poinsettas given to us as gifts, the domain was looking good!!! Oh btw, we left our two Siamese cats and our white labador, Duchess, at home on their own. :0 As we put the key in the door, turned the lock, and opened the door...OMG!!! It was a scene from
h--l!!! First of all, the tree crashed to the floor--ornaments smashed, water from the stand drenched the carpet & the red felt Chrismas tree skirt, which stained the lt. beige carpet RED :0, all the large poinsettas & housplants (and all the wet soil...) all tipped over (which I had watered earlier that day :0, mud spread on the carpet throughout the house, muddy cat & dog paw prints all over the lt. beige painted walls, the fireplace mantle stripped bare--not a nutcracker or any decoration at all in sight--just strewn along the muddy carpet with wooden arms & legs broken of the poor nutcrackers. What a mess!!!

The cats hid for days...Duchess hid in our closet...

No one knows what happened that evening between the three of them...but I know Santa knew who was naughty or nice!!!

Lucy, my baby boy's name is Picaso and he was only 14 mos. old in that photo. He is the BEST cat I've ever owned...and I have owned a LOT of them. Grew up on a farm ya know. He is supposed to be a full blooded persian but does not have a really pushed in nose. I LOVE CATS...will you post photos of your cats please?

MJ, I laughed so blasted hard at your story. OMG...my husband (a NON animal lover) would have nice little siamese and white labrador rugs infront of our fireplace if that happened here. ha ha. A new house to boot. It always seems to happen in that fashion. If you have something old and krummy...heck that would NEVER happen then. OMG...I can not stop giggling. I'm sure it was not funny at the time. Years later I bet you look back now and can laugh too.

My daughter is coming home from college on Thursday and will spend her 2 week X-mas vacation here. Problem is...she has two kittens. One who is about 9 mos old and has been here many times. BUT is a DEVIL cat. ha ha. Let me clarify that statement...He is a big beautiful baby and loves to be held or pampered. But incredibly intelligent and uses his good looks to charm you into believing him to be an angel.

Here is how the devil description takes on a new meaning...He opens cupboard doors and will eat ANYTHING. My daughter calls to tell me everything he gets into and I can't stop the hysterical laughing.

One day she called madder than a wet hen...the cat crawled into the cupboard and ate an entire package of oriole cookies, and scattered about uncooked noodles, and uncooked rice. She said her apartment had food everywhere. He's sneaky mind you and eats anything in sight.

He LOVES food and will do whatever it takes to get some. When you pick him up the first thing he does is stick his nose up to your mouth to see if you are eating anything and whether or not he needs to put on the charm. WOW! He is GOING to be a handful.

That's only one of her babies. His name is Remington The III (Remmy for short). Here is a couple photos of him.

At Thanksgiving I had the pleasure to meet her second kitten she got 1 week before Thanksgiving. She (Macee) is a gorgeous persian siamese. She was quite small so I could not get a feel for many characteristics but she does not like to be held. Anytime you held her she would scramble to get out of your hands. My daughter says she is naughty too. ha ha I will get photos of her when she is here for Xmas.

It is going to be an interesting 2 weeks with her cats here. I'm kind of skairt!

OH my gosh...what a story MJ. I would have had a cow rofl. I think while I have to finish sewing and the posting of my kitties will have to wait till later, I leave the devil cat up. how cute. ALL the kitties here are so adorable!
Picaso is just a beauty! From the first picture...with his head being so BLACK lol, all I really saw was his main(sp)maine? and I thought he was a main coon lol. Had a Pesian before I left here long ago and she hated to be brushed. Of course it was a gift to my then 16 year old daughter. Needless to say it was my fist and last time giving a pet as a gift. She ruined that cat. Now the maincoon I got does not need as much brushing as the persian at all.

All of the kitties are beautiful!!!! If I didn't have 4 dogs I think I would want another cat. We have one and he just hides from the dogs (we have had him for 10 years). My old cat that passed away 2 years ago would just lay in the floor and dare the dogs to pass by him, he ruled the house, the other cat is a wimp :(

I would swear my old cat was in cahoots with the dog, we had a shih tzu (she passed a few years ago at the age of 16) the cat would knock things off the counter and I would find them both with their heads in a bag of potato chips. I would swear those 2 talked to each other.

What beautiful kitties~ wish I wasn't allergic now. I miss having them. Funny story about the new house all decorated and the animals redoing it for you. I would have died I think, lol.

I love the cat photos and the stories! Takes me back to when we had our three Siamese cats.
MJ...your story was horrifying! I can't even imagine what your thoughts were when you opened the door. Luckily the worst mess mine made was getting into my knitting yarn and it was literally strung and wound all over the the house and furniture. It took some doing to unstring it but no clean up like yours!
Tj, What kind of cat is Picasso? He looks like a Himalayan, but I am not up on all the cat breeds anymore. You said he is a Persian? He looks to have Siamese markings? He is beautiful! You had better stock up on some extra snacks for your daughters cats. You do want them to feel welcome don't you? Love all the pics and stories and would love to see more!

aww too cute !!

We moved into our home 3 years ago today...and my son was begging for a kitten for Christmas. We found one at the shelter...but we couldnt get it close enough to Christmas Eve, so we brought the kitten home while he was at school. The kitten came in to the house, walked around, curled up under the tree...and THAT is how my son found his new kitten. We couldnt have planned it better...and the cat is just sooo sweet !

Thanks for sharing the cute cats, and stories...our pets sure do make this world a better place !
