Three years ago, I asked about a clematis which my mother had given me. She had rooted it by laying a stem on the ground and forgeting about it - that's her most successful method of propagation. :)

I had planted it under a veranda behind some lattice and asked your opinion as it was not really doing well. Some of you said it was a good spot and just to give it time. So that's what I did.

I've come back to thank-you for the advice and ask if you can ID this clematis. I prune it every spring, and it starts flowering in July and will put on a non-stop show until the snow starts flying or things get too cold - usually the end of October.

The following picture was taken about three weeks ago, and today, the whole top area of the plant is covered with these nice flowers.
