pale looking sweet autumn clematis with spots

hi there everyone,

i planted a SAC on the south side of my house to grow up a large trellis next to our patio last fall. so far it has been growing really well, is up almost to the top of the trellis - over 15 feet by now. i've noticed over the past few weeks some of the leaves near the bottom browning, and the plant seems a bit pale. today i climbed up to take a closer look and noticed some tiny brownish spots on some of the leaves. is this type susceptible to some disease or some kind of bug? or is that normal? i'm somewhat new to clematis, and not that familiar with this type either. it does get pretty warm in that spot, with full sun and heat from the patio and the stucco house. does it just need to be watered more? thanks for any input!
