Favorite flowers this season?

I planted some Irish Eyes Rudbeckia-- or green eyed susans from seed this year. They are flowering now and the bloom is really nice! Its a very good sized flower head that looks almost like a bright yellow orange coneflower with a pretty spring green center. As the flowers age they droop like coneflower. The flowers are much bigger than I had thought they would be from the package and the stems are very tall and erect so would make a nice cut flower. Mine are about 2-3 feet tall and the flower is maybe 6 inches across. Love them!

Another favorite this year I have is some tangerine vine type nasturtiums that are spilling out of beds and mounded up by my bird feeder, very pretty!

My first year gardening in the carolinas has been just wonderful--I love the weather here. Hate the fire ants but love the weather. How's it going for others? Got a favorite bloom? mary t
