Growing Aussie natives in SoCal

Hi everyone - has anyone had success growing australian natives in a drought tolerant garden? The basic assumption - no supplemental phosphorus, and good drainage. I currently have some wonderful Acacia, Protea, Grevillea, Leucospermum, Leucadendron and Xanthorrea (grass tree). I put in an Isopogon formosus last year, and it looks like it will be covered in blooms. All of these survived the freeze without a trace of damage.

Has anyone grown Dryandras, desert peas (Swainsona), Gymea lily (Quail Gardens has one), Calothamnus (netbush) or Eremaea? Maybe even a Waratah or Clianthus (parrot beak from NZ)?

Here is a link that might be useful: Leucospermum 'Tango'
