So...what are my chances of success...

I am always looking for different ways to grow Broms, and over the years, I have found they do remarkably well growing in, or on sections of tree fern, or what we call ponga.

Recently, I was able to obtain a few 1.8M tall ponga sections that had been used as a fence. They are many years old, & the centres have rotted out, making them ideal "planters". So having a few spare Alcantarea seedlings around, I thought...why not try planting these into the tops of the ponga.

And here is the result.

I figure...worst case to grow too big & burst out of the ponga...best case I have Alcantarea "Trees" that can be moved around the garden as required.
