Record Keeping: Things I have learned

mnwsgal

I keep records in a notebook, container, name of plant, date sown (nsl notation if no seeds left), date germinated, date planted out. This notebook is used all year both to make notes in and to refer to during the planning stages of past sowing/performance or to answer questions on this forum.

I have learned to use a waterproof ink to make these notes. Pencil can be too light to read with my computer glasses and difficult to read with a dirt smear. Regular ink can smear when gets wet. The waterproof ink is bold and smearproof. Easy to read.
