Comments (3)A BIG thank you to macranthos for your assistance here, pointed me in the right direction, and yes this is a Pilea Microphylla, though with the suggestion sent me to the receipts back in February and I did find, one for "Babies Tears" which is the depressa sub, and this makes me believe that in fact was sold to me incorrectly, a mix up at a nursery or something, as this particular plant shows more aspects of the Microphylla variety. Also Thank you Ken on your compliment and observation, that was quick thinking actually of what do I have handy for a scale?? Nearest object gets elected since I was too lazy to go and get a ruler. One last thank you goes to this forum, full of great people and an invaluable resource. Blessings to everyone Tim...See MoreHow do you make your identification tags/labels?
Comments (3)Candice, I have done a multitude of things over the years. Had those PVC Mini Blinds and took them apart and cut the PVC slats into the size I needed (Old Blinds, that is). Most recently, I purchased on eBay Plastic plant tags that come in a wide range of colors. This way I could label different species and/or hybrid crosses and identify from first glance by tag color and then read further for exact individual plant. I have a Brother Handheld Label maker which I use on older specimens. Rick...See Moremetal rose tags
Comments (7)I got these pretty cheap on ebay. They are called, Impress-O-Tags. There are 100 tags to a pack. I think they also come in a copper color. They aren't super fancy but you just use a pen to press on the soft metal to impress the name. I got them about 3 yrs ago and they have held up perfectly in our hot, damp, sunny climate. They come with wires to attach them on a stem etc. I have so many plants (not just roses) that these are perfect for me. I hybridize and I can write seedling dates and other details on the back of the tags and names etc on the front so they are really handy. ~Sjn...See MoreHomemade metal rose tags, other labels and markers
Comments (3)No, I buy what's called a "paint pen" at Michael's craft store. Sharpie started making a no fade marker a few years ago which faded the same as their regular " permanent "markers. I noticed in the store last year they have come out with an oil based marker now, and I imagine it would also hold up. Sections of mini blind do work very well as a label. Pencil works fine on those, but a bold, dark paint pen is easier to see from a little distance. I tried the oil base pen when I bought some zinc markers on ebay. The seller said that labels written on with oil based pens hold up about ten years outside....See Morekarl_bapst_rosenut
