Any chance of seeing photos of the flowers, hips, canes, foliage and plant to give a better idea of what it might be? Kim

Here are some photos.
we had 3 inches of snow and lows down to 16 last week- so it's shrugged that off all right- tho the hips look a bit frost bitten.

I apologize about the lack of clear flower pictures- these were taken sometime in late august- more as an inventory than for beauty.

I found about 5 thorns on this whole bush today- half were very thin.. Interestingly they are all on one cane ( the one in the floral shot). There are none other on the rest of the plant.

I was thinking some kind of pavement rose or rugosa cross, but I don't know.
It did suffer some cane die back last year and our winter only got down to 10 degrees twice. So it's not pure rugosa.

blurry flowers-- these are about average for the later blooms size. I had the worse case of thrips this year that I disbudded the ones that were chewed on.

Foliage looks like typical modern rose of the floribunda or HT type. Hard to tell from the photos. A clear close up of the flower next spring would help, and fragrance description (or lack of it). 'Living Easy', perhaps? 'Honey Bouquet'? 'Honey Perfume'?

Sadly- there isnt much fragrance usually. Ive on the rare occasion found a moderately fruity rose scented bloom on it.

I think it could be a common ht or floribunda too- probably just 25 petals average- so no great beauty. But it's steady blooming.

But the no thorns aspect and weird huge hips rule out everything i can think of. i am not that knowlegable about hips, but these look like apples the size of a ping pong ball and, to me, thats rare. No?

I'll try to feed it and give it better sun next year to see if it changed it's look. And i'll get better pictures too.

Hmmm -- I find the "thornless" part of that description most interesting. I don't know of any thornless yellow florrie-type roses that are anything like yours. And a quick search on those criteria in HMF produced nothing that is likely to be it, either.

Is it really completely thornless? That makes it a rose that is probably worth preserving, if so.

Well, I dont recall thinking it as thornless the first year. Or this year even. I just realized it when i was pulling hips off of it last week--that It wasnt catching me at all.
I looked it over and found 4, or was it 5?, thorns on the whole bush-- all on one basal branch set. Only a couple were normal thick hooks.
I'll look again tomorrow. I was rushing, maybe i missed more.
Or maybe next year all the branches will be thorny.??

If it indeed only has 4 or 5 thorns- on the whole bush this size- isnt that basically thornless/nearly so?

Just wanted to update that I think this rose must be the Easy Elegance rose" Yellow Submarine" and the very low thorn count is a fluke of the weather which probably won't last.
This rose is the only one I could find with the same BIG hips. And otherwise, it's a pretty close match to the description.
