Ok, Gather around in a circle,join hands, and do the happy dance with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes,i have SPROUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG,in about 8 containers,many of which are poppies,the others i am not sure of,as i taged them on the inside,next year,i will do better at marking the out sides.

I checked them yesterday and nothing,nothing this morning either,then BOOM,just like that,there they are you guys,the most beeeeeeautiful green you ever did see.

I have done so many containers,now i wanna do more.

Breaking out the wine coolers,here,there is pleanty for all,click to winter sowing.

You guys, I really do have sprouts,REALlY.Honest to Goodness.

Don, back in the sixties, hospital admissions were in the newspapers, as were accidents. Most papers have historical archives. Shouldn't take more than a visit or a phone call to locate the papers for that week. You'll have a name, and likely a home of records, anyway. It's a good place to start. This post struck me rather profoundly. I was the first on the scene of an horrific accident in which a young man managed to wrap his car, almost literally, around a phone pole. I won't go into details, but being a nurse, knew his injuries were of the most serious nature, and doubted he'd come out of it alive. I never knew anymore after the squad arrived and he was transported out of the area to a major trauma center. Two years later, a fellow walked up to my g'house as I was watering. He came to introduce himself, and to let me know it was a long haul, but he lived. I was always grateful that he looked me up. I'd have always wondered.

I have a twenty-foot tall 'Jaune Desprez' in part shade that is in generous and sweetly scented bloom at the moment. My rose is grafted--I don't know if that's important--and was slow to get started, not blooming at all its first year and not much the second. It's a good handsome floriferous rose now. Pay attention to pruning. It gets more disease than some roses, but my roses live a spartan life, with no disease or pest treatment or supplementary water, and it does well this way. I would give it time: the pale silky roses with their button eye are worth waiting for. The musk fragrance comes to greet me as I walk toward our yard. I think that 'Zephirine Drouhin' is a rose for full sun. I have it and it does well enough, but it has a reputation, merited I think, for getting a lot of disease if it doesn't like its conditions. I am with everyone on this too.. I was able to provide FULL HOT sun and water once a week, even in the winter when it thrived..Here is the catch. It was in a small place, on a shelf, with glass on all sides, where it would get hot in there, even in the dead of winter. It was always in bloom, especially, this time of year. Once I had to switch work places, there was no where to put it, so I put it outdoors in the spring through summer last year, and it never flowered or looked the same after that, even in the hot summer sun. In fact, I lost my plant just last week!!!:-(((( I was watering it exactly the way I use to before, only it was not in a hot sunny place, only in a sunny place where room temps were always just in the 70's, I guess cool by their standards...It rotted out from the stump and collasped..I almost cried.In fact my self worth, was almost bruised too..I felt I failed that plant I had an attachment to.. I learned that next time, I would rather hold back on the watering even though, even if I think the soil is dry, until I can give it HOT sun.. I wish you luck with yours! I wouldn't worry so much about undwatering since it is not getting the hot sun they love and thrive in..That could explain the not so hard trunk and stems..Mine always had a very HARD trunk, when it was getting the heat and sun..Then softened, once the ehat was robbed of it, but not the sun..Maybe they require more hydration when they get the heat and sun together, which could explain the reason for hardness..A well hydrated plant..? I wonder myself.. I am sure it will be alot better once it gets both!I did notice the ones at HD were loosing their firmness too. They have theirs in full sun also..They were stiff when they arrived, and the women told be they were use to growing in hotter conditions too.. I saw those beauties at HD this am, and I was hesitant to buy one, because I wish I could provide desert like conditions in which they thrive on.. P.s..I will say that the only time that my plant even came close to looking as good as it did in the past, was when I had it on the hot tarpped roof in full sun July, until the wind blew it right off..So no more hot tarp.. It'll be the first thing you do each morning and the last thing before the sun sets. Try not to spend too much time out there with the flashlight. Let them stay on their cycle.

Well I sowed the majority of mine over the weekend so that might take a while....

I do believe it works but I am anxious to see it.

I am happy for you! I did not mark some of my fist containers. They were small and I thought I would remember. So I guess if those sprout I will have some surprises.

I don't know much about Z5 but aren't y'all the ones that had all that snow a week or two ago? Amazing. Seems like plants are the only thing that can fight mother nature and win,huh?

Congratulations. They will just get bigger and stronger from here on out! I'm so happy for you!

Rosepedel,thank you,i feel like have asked WAY to many questions,i do so appreciate every one baring with me,see,from all your kindness,we all have sprouts,as there is no way i could have done any of this with out your help,be forewarned,i still have questions,:0(, and i am still fretting over my veggies.

I am still doing the happy dance,i called my daughter to tell her,and we both screamed,she is as excited as i am,i sent her a picture,ha ha,you would think i just gave birth,her,see my new baby.

I will keep you posted as new ones arrive,i love you guys!

I'm happy for your joy, and delighted to hear of poppies in zone 5.
I direct sowed mine because I had trouble transplanting them last year (only two survived) I can hardly wait. Probably should have WS to get earlier sprouts.

OMG,i am laughing over here,

Mayblooms,you cracked me up,see,QUESTIONS!From Me-every time you turn on the computer,(very red faced)oh well,it's true,to funny.

I was not going to report this,cause it's only a few more,but, i DO have more sprouts,i will post a picture tomorrow,i have been on line al day,man am i tired,now i gotta go to exercise class.
