Help me pare down my zone 5 list

I have two spots for roses, and I need some advice for those who know what I have to choose from. One area the shrub should be 2-4', the other can be larger. I'm looking especially for input on BS and P.mildew resistance, as I will not be spraying at all. I'm not using rugosas in these areas since I already have a number of them nearby.

Besides disease resistance, please comment on fragrance, hardiness issues, repeat blooming and importantly, how the shrub looks when not in bloom - foliage and shape will be important in these areas.

Opinions please about:

Jacques Cartier

(Bucks) Blue Skies

Mordens:

Frontenac

Centennial

Lambert Closse

And finally, John Davis might work in the larger area, as it will be against a 4' fence, but I'm worried about it overtaking the area and going into the neighbors' yard. If I prune it in the spring and train the canes horizontally (it can spread 8+ feet), do you think 4-5' is enough height for it?

Thanks for your advice!
