Purezza vs banksia in inland soCal
Hi folks, I got interested in Purezza via another thread here and was curious about whether I should wait out my current yellow banksia, or whether I should try replacing her.
the landscapers that put in the bones of my backyard when we moved in planted a large banksia (maybe 3-5 gallon?) this is what it looks/looked like:
It was planted 12/29/09, roughly. I've seen pretty much NO growth on it, and not very much blooming. Am I doing something wrong perhaps...? or does it just not like my climate?
I'm in the Santa Clarita area (inland socal) zone 9-10? SW 18. alkaline clay soil.
I really love banksia (combination of the blooms and the leaves) ... but if it's not going to do well in my area then I'd prefer to replace it with something that might do better like perhaps Purezza... or Cecile Brunner cl
or perhaps just one of the other climbing roses sitting in my pot ghetto waiting for a spot in the garden.
