What have you ordered for this fall?
Comments (59)pitimpinai, I went through the thousands-of-bulbs thing last year. This year it's only hundreds. For one thing, I'm out of room for thousands more--I have to play "junior archaeologist" any time I plant ANYTHING to make sure I don't slice into something wonderful and dormant. The other thing is that planting is about the best "buns of steel" exercise I've found. Actually, too good. Last fall, in late November, when I went for a monthly hormone injection in my backside, I was so tight that the needle started to bend! I don't plan to bend any needles this year. My Scheepers, Old House Gardens, Lily Garden, B&B and Odyssey Bulbs mostly haven't arrived yet. The early orders came (Colchicum, fall-blooming crocus, some species lilies, stuff like that) and were promptly planted. It looks like the planting will begin in earnest next weekend, when those orders start arriving! Lisa...See MorePickering is open for fall orders!
Comments (8)I finally got around to sitting down and going through the site tonight. You can tell that they cut back on their variaties quite a bit from previous years. Last year I bought quite a few that they were discontinuing, and thankful that I did :) Also, as Beth mentioned, a good amount are already sold out. This year, I placed my order for these: Laguna (the main reason I ordered from them this year..wanted this one very badly after seing some pics of it) Gypsy Boy Tour de Makakoff Kazanlik R. Primula White Cap Yippee! Tammy...See MoreHummer feeding frenzy-vid
Comments (2)jomuir I bought this triple decker back in march at lowes not knowing if I would need to use it or if hummers would go to it. I didnt even hang this feeder till august. There is actually 3 separate feeders holding 16oz each and you can use them singly or as needed. I have a small yard as you can maybe tell by my surroundings but I do have a 10-25 hummer garden plus potted plants and a few honeysuckles. Plus maybe my central indy location helps. But when hummers do stop they cant seem to ignore the TD. As of last evening about 7pm I noticed 10 or 11 hummers sitting on the TD. The true test of knowing how many I have for that day is the period between 7-8pm. Last season at this time I was only seeing 3 or 4 hummers. Im enjoying each day that this hummer bonanza brings me. Im sure a week from now or less they will for the most part all be gone. My last sighting last season was sept 29th....See MoreFecal Frenzy
Comments (27)TJ's trip coming up soon and they have organic canned available. They have an All-Bran version, just in case…. Unadulterated pumpkin seems awfully unappealing for a baby. Good to know it's available, though. Thanks for checking out the site lukki. I will give more and hopefully, the pumpkin will balance things out. I have a severe PC allergy-if you give me instructions to post a pic, I'll try and if not, my very proficient daughter will do so when she comes home from work....See MoreLindyB
