what was your worst composting disaster?

Friends of ours compost regularly,as do we. One day my wife was over there and thought they had snow in their garden (it hadn't snowed) her friend told her it was the paper from her home office shredder.

A few days later my son called me from home. Our neighbor was complaining to him about all our "trash" blowing into his backyard. It turns out my wife shredded a bunch of paper and just spread it in our garden. The wind picked up and blew it into the neighbors yard. My son wound up going over and having to clean it up. My wife said "Well, our friends paper didn't blow all around, so I didn't think ours would".

In another thread someone was saying our their husband put shredded credit cards in the compost. Been there, done that, there were shredded cards in the stuff my wife threw on the garden. I'm still finding pieces two years later.

So what was your worst disaster?

BTW, last week I scored about 2 and half tons of well rotted/aged horse manure.
