Using compost to build new raised garden bed?

Hello,

After tearing out my garden this year, I have an excessive amount of plant matter to compost. I suppose this is a good problem to have, except for my compost bin being already full.

I have an area in my yard where I plan on building a raised bed next spring. I was thinking of building it now, and just dumping in the partially composted stuff already in my compost bin. This would free up the bin to start filling again with my most recent scraps and other materials.

Can I just leave the new raised bed uncovered over the winter? I figure by next spring the stuff should probably pretty much finish itself, then I will add ammendments and soil at that time to fill it up. Any suggestions?
