Little people on Lamp !!!nee noo nee noo !

A few years ago I took this picture and then noticed it looked like there were little peopl dancing around on the top edge of the lamp shade---
Can you see them?? It is a little blurry--

Yes, I can see them. Is this one of those psych tests? Of course, I can only see them after I peel my eyes away from your beautiful bouquet. I once took a photo of Stonehenge. When it was developed, there was a Druid or monk or something in the image. (I know. Druids really have little to do with Stonehenge.) When I photographed a wood stove interior for my insurance company, a face appeared in the developed image. Spooky. Sometimes I photograph roses but don't realize that there's a spider or ladybug on the flower until the pic is opened in iPhoto. I pretend that I'm a great nature photographer when friends comment on my ability to capture "wildlife" on film.

Hi Florence: I don't see little people ... but I enjoy your bouquet .. I wonder what are the roses in your bouquet? It's a very pretty vase, I like that a lot.

Thinking about this confusion due to the orientation of the photo. Did you know, ....or better I should say it this way...... I read somewhere that during WW the Deuce, the government had women analyzing aerial reconnaisance photos because women were generally recognized as more adept (I won't say BETTER, just ADEPT) at "pattern recognition".....and could spot hidden fortifications or anomalies in the landscape? Regardless of the way they were turned or camouflaged? Just saying....... yes, it's off topic, but one reason that males might be distressed or disoriented by falling down the rabbit hole where everything is backwards or upside down. I find it interesting that information I read in one place winds up with application in a totally different venue. Like Tim, I take my pictures the best way I can to get all I want into the frame. Sometimes that plays heck with walls and floors and trees growing sideways.....I like getting tall scapes in, and that demands a diagonal placement of the plant. But Tim, can you tell me what that brown metal-looking object is? Metal? Wicker? A lamp? A plant cloche? Do you collect antiques?

Decorating, like life, is a journey not a destination. So IMO one should just enjoy the process and not be concerned about finishing. I think if you like that painting you should find a better place to hang it and keep it. One doesn't have to "adore" everything one has, it can be a lesser "love" in a lesser place in your home. It's still decor and IMO is an OK painting. "I would only get a not well known artist's work for my home, still now sure how I feel about this...any thoughts?" There is no way I can afford an original Monet or any other well-known famous artist's work I love. And since I much prefer original art I only buy "not well known" artist's works. I do only buy what I feel I don't want to live without. What I do is haunt small galleries and when I see something I like I leave. If I am very concerned it will sell before I return to the gallery I know I need to buy it and I often rush back and am very relieved it is still there. The ones that have sold I still remember and am sorry I didn't buy them but I know there will always be more in the future that I will love. I personally think one should have a few minor regrets in life! Makes it more interesting. I am always amazed that people think original art is expensive. I've paid between $75. and $1500 for original oil paintings and less for original water colors. Framing is often a big expense but I've bought nice frames at yard sales for only a few dollars and I like the look of unframed oils so don't frame all of them. I also have lots of original oils and watercolors from yard sales and have never paid more than $20. for a framed piece. Some were only $1 or $2 and very nice works. Searching for art one loves is a wonderful hobby so enjoy finding what really makes your heart beat faster! :)

My windowsill isn't very wide so this is the most I can't fit on it at a time. I usually swap out some plants every other day or so. Got my 2 spiders, lipstick, pregnant onions, Hoya carnosa cutting, thanksgiving cactus, thanksgiving cactus cuttings, pony palm, fuchsias, and 2 grow cubes with forget me nots and a rose. Sometimes in the window sill are my peace lily, schefflera cuttings, Chia pet and rarely my wandering jew. In other windows in the house I've got my ensete maurelii, schefflera with spider plants, my haworthia and succulent dish. Pretty warm here at the moment. 10 degrees Celsius! And its supposed be way above zero all this week.

Yard man here today and had to find something more for him to do as the leaf blower is in for it's winter servicing. So, we continued with the clean-out. Today, was a lovely antique mahogany buffet that was once in my in--law's DR. We had no room for it in ours, but thought it might make the bottom of the steps in the basement look a lot better. Our basement is semi-finished but from the top of the steps and most of the way down, it looks finished. It is a great piece for storage of things (mainly silver) used far less often, but that I'm not yet ready to part with - thinking about those 4 grandchildren (who may or may not want any of it). Well, in addition to being good for storage, it is good/bad as it's a catch-all place. It's near the door into the basement garage, and things just end up "living" on this piece of furniture. I haven't seen the top in years! Things that need to go to Goodwill, upstairs, in the trash, be returned, put somewhere other than in the basement on this buffet. We started with the top and cleaned it off. Books went upstairs (God knows how I'm going to find space for them in my already over-loaded bookshelves, but I will!), lots of stuff to Goodwill (I won't make a special trip to the paint store to return the paint roller that was the wrong size and is still unopened - someone will get it for a bargain), paper trash - you name it, it was living on this buffet. We got it all cleared off and actually DUSTED! It's really very beautiful! Now, my portable oxygen and the charger for the extra battery, is at one end plus a basket to keep extra oxygen tubing and cannula, and shoulder strap for the carrier. The cordless phone is also there, next to a wall plug I had put in many years ago. At the other end is a small pile of things to return - I'll get enough money back to make it worth my while - only 4 things. A pretty green glass bowl is in the center. If it becomes a catchall, it will go below. A picture by a Vineyard artist that my late husband and I bought at the Cincinnati Antiques Show at least 15 years ago, is now hung - it's been propped there all these years. Yikes! I know my husband is pleased. Then we went through the 3 drawers - some stuff for Goodwill, mostly trash. Now organized and I know what's in them. There are two single cabinets underneath with doors, and one double one with two doors. Went through the two single ones - didn't throw much out, but I now remember what is in them. Center one is the silver - it will stay as it is and become my daughter's problem! We spent 3 hours doing this and I also had my yardman take the HUGE, very heavy bag of clothes from the clean-out in my late husband's closet (both his and my clothes that needed to go), to Goodwill for me. Altogether a productive 4 hours and worth the money I pay him! It will be late March/early April before he does much work outside, so this is my clean-out time with him. Onward and upward!

I see them Florence. Did you ever see the movie about the little Victorian girls who took photos of fairies? I can't remember the name right now.

Strawberry---maybe if you hold your hand over one eye it will work----they look like little people right on the top edge of the glass shade---

Once long ago, I took a really very nice photo of the facade of Mission San Luis Rey. I was chagrined, when it came back from the developers to see what looked for all the world like a VW Bus, driving out through the great front doors of the church.

Taught me to look, before I shoot, but I do still sometimes miss something like a crab spider peeking out from behind a rosebud.

I DO see the Tiny Dancers . . . :-)

I can also see them. Nothing would surprise me after all the things that have happened to me (although only after I met my husband). One of the most memorable was when our beloved cat died and I said to my husband how wonderful it would be if Casey could show us that his spirit is still alive. That evening a glass standing on the coffee table where we were sitting moved by itself to the edge and fell over. I can't describe what it felt like to see that with my own eyes. A few evenings later I foolishly said how nice it would be if we could have yet another sign from our kitty. Every morning I put my purse and lunch bag on the front seat next to me. The very next morning the lunch that I had put on the front seat was gone. It took me a while to find it on the floor behind the driver's seat. And that's only the beginning.....
