For Rosarium Uetersen, try High Country Roses.

I believe Roses Unlimited carried both of them this year. You might give them a try. They are very reliable.

Unfortunately, HelpMeFind is not always updated as to which vendors carry which roses.
I've found that sometimes the listing is very outdated.
When a vendor drops a rose from their line, it sometimes takes a long time for that to be reflected on their website.

My oldest 'Pretty Jessica' was purchased from Roses Unlimited, but I tried to get another one recently from them and was told they no longer carry that rose.
I just received one from Rogue Valley Roses. They shipped me a small specimen, but it's healthy and doing well. I would try them first. If you've never ordered a band sized rose before, they are very small, but if you put them in a container for 6 months or a year, and water carefully, they do just fine, and can then be planted into the garden. Pretty Jessica is a wonderful little rose.

The Antique Rose Emporium carries Rosarium Uetersen and their website shows it is in stock.

I have one being held at Rogue Valley, because they are, like gnabonnand's, small yet.

If you are going to go with bands, understand that they cannot be spending this coming winter outside. Maybe if you had received them a couple of months ago, it might work.

I wouldn't put either of those in the same category as the Explorers which you could probably plant as a band now and get through the winter.

Growing the bands on is the hard part. Rooting is the easy part. Among other things, you almost have to know how to root to get enough guinea pig roses to figure out how best to overwinter small ones.

Orion Farms in Minnesota carries 2-gallon size potted grafted Pretty Jessica. I just bought two for $19 each plus shipping. Their phone number is 800-558-4180.

They were very nice, healthy size and had blooms on them when they arrived. I was very pleased with them.

Are you in the Mpls area? Sam Kedem (should have both) and Orion Farm are excellent places to start. Both have websites if you do a quick search and are a short drive from Mpls/St Paul. I also saw really nice looking Rosarium Uetersen plants this spring at the Linders in St Paul.

I drove down to Sam Kedum aka High Country Roses today and bought a bunch. This place is unbelievable. So many amazing pretties I gasped when I turned the corner and saw them. Unfortunatley, I was so overwhelmed by the selection that i think I made a couple missteps. I did see Pretty Jessica there but she seemed to be in pretty bad shape. This is not the norm at all for his roses but for whatever reason these looked pretty sorry. They had lots of yellow leaves..just not so good. I didn't see Rosarium Ueterson but I didn't ask either (like I said I was starstruck..) Here's what I did get

One of my main objectives was to get a climber for my new arbor/arch that husband built. After alot of hemming and hawing I ended up with Quadra..any thought about this one? I know it's not an antique but it has an antique look and seems very hardy. Sadly it apparently has no scent.. My misstep I think was that I got too many once bloomers. I'm thinking I might bring back and exchange (going back with my mom very soon..) Fantin Latour unless someone has strong opinions about it..I really love Fisherman's friend-just gorgeous- even though it says it's a once bloomer..I don't know..All critiques and suggestions welcome.

I got my Rosarium Uetersen from Chamblee's (they call it Seminole Wind/Rosarium Uetersen) but I think they have stopped shipping.

I have Fisherman's Friend and I love the flowers. It blooms a lot for me now that I peg it down. It was labelled as a once bloomer? That hasn't been my experience. It is very fragrant. Gets some BS but I don't spray.

I have never to my knowledge seen a Quadra but I helped research climbers for a friend in the Toronto area, and was told that Quadra was quite a bulletproof climber for cold zones -- it was the top recommendation I got. Based on that, I'll hazard a guess that you'll be happy with yours.

You're in a place with a pretty short growing season, so once bloomers make a lot more sense than in, say Florida. You get the huge show, and it takes up a much bigger percent of the bloom season than it would where stuff can bloom for 6, 8, 10 months of the year. I'd be growing 'em if I lived where you do.

Just fyi, while Rosarium Uetersen is a fabulous bloomer of good health and vigor with beautiful frilly flowers, it doesn't exactly look old fashioned. It has modern glossy leaves and an even more modern salmon color which unfortunately clashes with most other colors in the garden, save white or blue, perhaps purple. This rose really needs careful placing to look good. And while it doesn't look like an HT, it does look modern.

Oh wow! You got some nice roses!!! Going to Sam's is always dangerous for me. This year I went to get a big bag of fertilizer (which is awesome btw) and came back with 4 roses. Were people picking strawberries yet?

I've had my Quadra for a couple of years now. It was purchased as a band so it started out really small. My only complaint about this rose is that it does take some time to really get going. I believe I've heard the same thing on these forums as well. Someone posted a goregous pic of Quadra trained up an arbor on Help Me Find. I think you'll really like this one.

You should keep Fantin Latour. Of course the fact that I've had it on my wish list for years has nothing to do with it... But really, you got 3 absolutely outstanding once bloomers and 3 repeat bloomers. And if you go back down there you risk bringing home more roses. But if you do go look for Dakota's Song. It's one of my absolute favorites out of many, many roses in my garden. So much so that I now have 3.

Do keep your once bloomers. Once they mature, you'll be glad you did.

'Fisherman's Friend' does repeat some, but in our climate it is soon defoliated if not sprayed. Plants in a no-spray garden apparently froze out because they were so debilitated by blackspot. It also gets vegetative centers.

I have liked the pictures of the Dakota song I have seen.When you visit the nursery again can you please check whether they have a ownroot one gallon Dakota song.According to their website it is available,but it might not be current information.If you could let me know that it is available when you visit,I can call and see if they can make an exception and ship .(I know they don't do that,but I plan on trying any way )The rose is supposed to be hardy to zone4.That fact itself is worth the effort.

Dana - I was there a few weeks ago and they had plenty of 1G Dakota's Song. I doubt they would make the exception and ship but I suppose it never hurts to ask. As a favor to a friend I sent one out east a year ago. It was very expensive to ship, I believe around $30.

There was a thread "Free Jessica" and according to which Pretty Jessica may not be available anymore. So, if you want PJ and find one, you might want to grab it.
I just planted a tiny one and pampering it.

I have five small Pretty Jessica plants here, on the line between zone 6 and 7 in Oklahoma. They are in raised beds and large containers. If I mulch them heavily through the winter do you think they'll be okay? They came from Heirloom Rose Nursery, and already had buds when they arrived. I LOVE them, and certainly don't want to lose any of them. Was thinking of mulching with alfalfa hay.

I so agree with Michael to keep the once bloomers. They are so important and so prolific in spring when all things are green and they soften the otherwise all-green look of the garden. If I have only once-bloomers, I don't expect so much from my garden in the summer months when I should know they are not going to bloom well anyway, so why expect something that is not going to happen. I do have friends whose roses do repeat well in summer but mine never have. I have a spattering of bloom but not the spring-like flourish that some others have. I will count on my annuals and perennials to pick up the slack in the hot days of June, July and August. I have a few hardy roses that will do well in Autumn, but now I look forward to the foliage of oaks, maples, etc., to provide color for the changing seasons of my life.
