I did! I may have to add Madame Cochet to my wish list. I don't have a lot of blooms right now, so these look great to me.

You have some lovely roses here, Sherry. The only one I have is Carnation, which hasn't performed terribly well so far but it's still very young. Nahema is especially pretty.

So beautiful, Sherry! The thrips ruined my first big flush so it is nice to share your blooms.

Everything is looking great though and the growth has been stupendous. Fingers crossed for a fabulous flush...

Beautiful roses, Sherry. I keep taking note of the roses you're growing as inspiration for my own garden as I switch to mostly OGR's. I have a few HT's that are still doing great, but most of them will not be staying in my garden. Thanks for posting.

Scrumptious, Sherry. I wish I could grow Teas, but what can you do when you live in the frigid North? I think Carnation is my favorite.

Can you leave your Caladium in the ground year-around? Up here we grow them in pots and bring them indoors before the first frost.

Terry, our caladiums stay in the ground all year. They come up early in May and last through September when the days start to shorten.

Thanks, everyone! It doesn't seem like I have really had bushes covered with blooms except Rosette Delizy is pretty full now but still bothered by thrips :(( Maybe I'm just greedy with a short memory. LOL It's never enough, I guess. It's neat to see baby teas with 6 or 8 flowers on them that lay on the ground because their canes are so tiny. Someday they'll be able to hold them up.

I too have Nahema and love her. The flower form will be more chalice like as the bush matures, and the fragrance is out of this world; I dare say it's the best smelling rose in my yard right now.

Nahema/Naema looks like one to watch. I'd appreciate updates on disease resistance, habit, and strength of repeat.

Harry, ya got me! They come in several colors - white lavender, orange, purple - all with blue eyes. Last year when I bought the lavender they were called 'African Daisy'. They certainly don't mind the heat and get quite wide in a mound.

Michael, I'll keep you posted. As I said, it's a baby with 2 canes. The longest one about 15" long.

See, lots of people are here and admiring your beautiful roses! I see what you say about Carnation - while I'm not a big fan of real carnations and thus, I guess, never paid attention to this rose, it really shows something special on your photos. I might put it on my list. Your Souv. d'Elise Vardon is small, but very very charming (what was the potting soil fiasco?). Also, your Nahema looks terrific, can't wait until my new plant blooms.

Carnation was possibly my first OGR (from Seminole Rose& Herb Farm) and is so healthy and free-blooming. A lovely rose. Daylilies and roses are one of my favorite companions.
More more more is my motto.

It's been a great spring for roses and the garden hasn't it? And finally rain came for us and some of the 1 year old roses are shooting up one foot after sitting quietly all winter.

Carnation is my favorite, too. Love real carnations as well--especially the scented ones that smell good enough to eat.

Speaking of fragrance, what is it like on your 'Carnation'? I've read different opinions. HelpMeFind says it's strong, Vintage says it's light, and Antique Rose Emporium says there is no fragrance at all.

With such an unusual look to it, you'd think this found rose would have been id'd a long time ago.

Sherry - I remember the "potting soil fiasco"! I think that you lost Mlle. Jeanne Philippe in that disaster - we had both bought her at the same time (from Vintage's Unloved Roses - at least mine was), and I was so sad for you when that happened. But that LOVELY Souvenir d'Elise Vardon!!! Wonderful to have that survive - it is so beautiful. I also like Carnation - it looks like some of the roses in Chinese art.

Laura, how is your MJP doing? I'm amazed how much better SdEV did after she got in the ground - even after I split her rootball in half. :(( There weren't many roots.

Sherry, my MJP is doing very well. She's still small, and I've had only one bloom from her, but it was lovely. Cream and apricot and pink all washed together. She seems quite healthy and is currently putting out new growth - I think she is just a quiet little aristocrat who doesn't take giant strides, just little dainty steps. Another small rose that I got even later last year is really leaping ahead, and has given two flushes already (only two blooms each flush, though!). But I don't hold that against MJP - they are just different from each other. I am also facing the problem of less sun this year (the trees have grown), so I have been moving them all around for maximum exposure. Also I'm repotting the ones most in need of it, one at a time (I'm not known for my stamina), and this has helped the ones that have been done. In the ground is not an option for me, but it sure sounds like it helps! Your SdEV is exquisite.

Yes, the trees have grown here, too. I think some of the roses appreciate a little less sun though.

Beautiful pictures! I actually have that daylilly and it does indeed pop. Planted them around the perimeter of the garden and in between hostas. It also comes in a lovely mauve color..flower looks a little different though.
