All the posts on JB's

I am new to roses and to this forum. I have 3 plants that were finally doing good until all the leaves have disappeared after the first set of blooms. The blooms were intact, but the leaves are gone.

I've seen all these posts about Japanese Beetles. Is this was is eating them? I know there have been tons of them, but I haven't actually seen them on the roses. Although now there is no food left for them.

So I guess my question is: Will the plans survive? and is it the JB that are eating them?

Thanks in advance.
