Need help on keeping my gardens looking great 'til August 30th.

Hello,

It's been quite a while since I have posted here. Sadly, my beautiful roses have gone from about 100 to about 25 or so, mainly because of RRD and my loss of inspiration because of RRD. That's a whole nother story though.

I am posting in this forum, because I know that most of you are very knowledgable gardeners in all aspects, not just roses and I am looking for help. My home has been chosen to be the location for a surprise 50th party, with about 100 guests expected. The family members putting it together said they want it at my house because of my beautiful gardens. While I truly appreciate others find beauty in my yard, now the pressure is on.

It is going to be August 30th!!

Talk about when my gardens are generally at their worst! Most things are fried from the long summer heat, and that time of the year is far from my prime as far as blooming plants.

I'm hoping some of you can share some tips on how to keep things looking great. I know I'll need to water, fertilize and deadhead, but, what else? Anything more specific anyone can offer? Usually by August, I start to get lazy about watering, fertilizing and deadheading. If I keep up on that, do you all think I can keep my gardens looking great by then?

I think I really need help on this one...
