Narrow hedge trees (or shrubs) around 10-15' tall?

I am in zone 6b. I am looking to plant a few evergreen trees or shrubs to help screen the view of our neighbors' house. The area is on the top of a southern-facing hill. The trees/shrubs will be placed directly behind my russian sage plants that get around 4' tall during the summer. They will also be planted under some old Blue Spruce trees that have lost all of their older branches. Once the new trees are over 4 feet tall, their branches will receive full sun on their southern facing side. They will be shaded on their opposite side (in a lightly woodsy-like setting).

I am looking for something that might fit the following criteria:

1. Evergreen

2. Fast-growing (so that it won't be shaded by the sage too long and die.

3. Between 8-15 feet tall

4. Between 3-6 feet wide

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

May be too narrow but Skyrocket juniper comes to mind.
If you want to see what it looks like, it is the plant shown all the way on the right in this photo

Degroots Spire evergreens can make a nice thick and narrow hedge of trees. They also can be used alone as accent trees or to soften the look of hard lines or corners often found in buildings.

They are expensive, but will be well worth the investment if you purchase ones that are 5-6 feet tall, B&B ones that have been potted in 25 gallon containers, while being left in their burlap. Ask your nursery man how far to space them for the screening affect your desire.

If the soil where you want to plant them drains fairly quickly then make certain to keep them watered when the rainy season is over. Do this summer and winter at least for the first three years after planting, and there after if you see any of their inner, or even worse, lower leaves turning brown.

They probably would suffer too much of planted in soil that stays saturated for long periods of time.

Thank you, Lola! I considered Florida Boxwood. However its natural shape is too wide for my requirements and I would have to do a lot of pruning. Likewise with Podocarpus and some of the other suggestions. The article should also be updated, as Surinam Cherry is classified as a Category I invasive in Cental and South Florida by the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council here. Florida Boxwood in its natural state is between 10 to 15 feet. See here: link My research led me to a couple of tall and narrow hedges: I considered Will Fleming Holly, but it is not suitable for my zone, and I will not take a chance on a plant that is not right. Discussed it with a well-known nursury and they said not to try it. I also considered Juniper Blue Arrow, but have some concerns about disease, plus the plant is not tried and true here. I do not know if it would make an effective privacy screen. Thanks for the idea, and I look forward to hearing more ideas! :)

Arbs be my choice. Junipers a possibility, depending on exact locations and conditions, you may able to grow some of the irish junipers. Numerous cypress to choose from. If chamaecyparis, a hedge of some of the moderate growers may be a show stopper. Tendency to pyramidal growth, but some pruning and close planting would give you the wall effect. How ambitious are you. You can espalier anything...know a place on PA that had a blue atlas cedar espalliered against a barn wall...pruned about once a year. Takes a bit to establish, but memorable.

Schefflera pueckleri does develop some rather aggressive surface roots with age, and may be perfectly safe it your wall has a properly reinforced foundation of concrete with rebar, but not enough info here to advise you in your circumstances. In general Podocarpus latifolius or another species is probably a safer choice if your retaining walls are of questionable construction.I've also seen Magnolia grandiflora dwarfer cultivars used as trained espaliers in narrow planters without foundation problems. As to just one 2 month drop of flowers for Bougainvillea, not how I see them work here in northern California where most cultivars have two to three waves of bloom throughout the year, and drop massive amounts of flowers. Not a vine I'd use by a pool without a pool cover.

I have an Anna Apple that grows vertically. It only gets a bit of sun every day since it's between an orange and avocado tree. But it still produces great fruit. Training apples is really easy to do, you can even prune them to a single stick that will keep making apples every year. Others I'd recommend are figs and tropical guavas. They can be pruned to almost any shape.
