Should I cut this Spiderwort to the ground?

I am growing a white variety of spiderwort in an unusual place, and have never grown the white before. This location is under an awning which means that early and late in the season, when the sun is low, it gets full sun. In the middle of the season, when the sun is high, say from late May-late July, it gets NO sun. Almost full shade, because of the awning.

I am not sure that spiderwort will work out here, but daylilies do fine with this arrangement. So about 2 weeks ago, the spiderwort stopped blooming and all of the little buds look spent. Would you cut it to the ground now?

It is probably within a week or two of getting more sun.
