Or when you have what you swore for the longest time was a healthy volunteer tomato plant where your store-bought tomato plants were last year (when you wuz just a newbie and didn't know to grow from seed), and notice now that there are no flowers on that plant, while your seed-grown 'mater plants have at least a few flowers on them (because after all you are a newbie and the plants seem to *know* this)... and your suspicion grows that you have been watering and nurturing a weed for 3 months and telling your kids you'll be picking 'maters from it by end of August. :-/ Yep, that sucks too. At least that's what I hear. e_e And I hear ya about the coneflowers, I dug up four of them today to freecycle; the leaves are exactly like the mother plants', and I know my finches are slobs so I'm 99.9% certain they are coneflowers. But my freecycle post will include a disclaimer that there are no guarantees. ;-) Terri
