Help-Squirrels Chewed Through My Garden Gourmet

Hi, I'm new to this forum although not to the site. I hope someone might share some advice. I've been composting in my small urban backyard for several years, and every year, around late February, the hungry squirrels actually chew holes through my Garden Gourmet. I've patched the holes with duct tape, but this spring the sides of the bin started to bow, and the door at the bottom would not stay shut. As I was getting ready to shovel out the compost to reconfigure the bin--dare I say--I believe a rat jumped out. Ewww! Not wanting to be the worst neighbors on the planet, we disassembled the bin. I've read lots about best compost bins on this site, but I'm not sure which to get now. I heard great things about the Smith & Hawken biostack, but they seem to have gone out of business. Needless to say, I need a very sturdy, thick-walled bin. I'm not inclined to get a tumbler, because I had such great luck with worms making their way up from the yard. Any suggestions? Thanks! -Barbara
