Grafting result for 2013

In the summer of 2012 I did many grafts (flat grafts) and most of them took.
This year I tried different kind of graft not using any tape, and most of them didn't take. On July 23 I graft again using flat grafting and about 80% took. Here they are, some pots belong to my friends.

One of the scion on one graft almost rot, but tiny corner lived and produced a healthy branch.

Wow Jari, you have such a perfect technique it's like watching a commercial grafter. I am much less smooth and slick. I did 23 grafts yesterday and every cut was just right but I did them from diffent angles, sometimes standing above the RS and cutting downwards. It was the wrapping that became tricky as I was grafting on curved surfaces sometimes and the scion wanted to spring off. Once you have the first winds at the bottom and have trapped it then it's easy to wind it but that could be a fight needing three hands! Wonderful vid, I'll watch it before I graft in future to focus myself.

Yes, a few more that I couldn't post earlier today below. Yep, 'Bird Park' seems to be difficult to graft, I would say those account for most of my losses. I did many 'Bird Park' grafts and only had 1 success. However, I chopped the understock off before reading that Spruce need the understock, so I will likely lose it... I just don't trust myself to care for fresh grafts in pots... I would much rather allow mother nature to care for them. I'm not particularly organized, and would likely forget to water or fertilize them. That area is pretty shaded if the trees will ever leaf out, but in the meantime I have a 60% shade cloth canopy overhead. Interestingly, the one surviving graft of Picea x mariorika 'Glauca' has no buds! I didn't notice when I grafted the piece that the buds were missing. It seems healthy though. I'm keeping the rootstock on that one and hoping it will be able to generate new buds next year... I've seen it happen before! First grafting result of 2016

Spacecoastfl, yes it was $10, I can't control myself that week. I went back 2 more times. Made some phone calls and HGC got rich after my phone calls....hehe. Yes, I got Honey Bee from Rinoa in 2014 and it still a tiny plant, but it has so many buds now. I wasn't talented, just practices made me better grafting person. I had some grafts lift up too, maybe the cut was not even? Marie

What are the results of grafting albino adenium seedlings?

The first link above shows threads from Mike, Patty, & Kirk. I've seen other seedling graft posts. Hopefully, they will all update us. I can imagine doing this for the albino seedling of a plant that is likely to produce a specific, special bloom ... to save it. Maria Elena

Marie those are clean joints where you grafted them together. Very fine work. The plants are so healthy looking. It is amazing how small of a piece you can have and still produce a new branch. That graft will probably be the first to bloom. Paula

Mark, yes the COT cuttings were in the back. I did many cuttings to trade for the ones I don't have. COT is my other collection. I now have over 60 pots of COT and when they in bloom they are beautiful.

I am still buying the ones I don't have if I saw it.

Thank you again, I will post pictures when these grafts in bloom.
