Last year I ordered from Sandhill, and it seemed as though the slips would never get here. Farmerdilla is right - they are in Iowa, and claim that the third week in June is plenty of time for sweet potatoes. So that is about the time they came. I had planted some slips from a local grower in May, the ones I got from Sandhill in June, and at the second week of October, (just before our first frost) I dug up everything. The June sweets were significantly smaller than the May ones, and I don't think it was totally because of the difference in variety. So I saved a potato or two from both over the winter, and this spring started my own slips, and planted both at the same time in May. They're all growing well, just have to wait 'til October again to see if I'm right or not.

Your post caught my eye because I too have several mislabelled roses from Pickering, including a Great Maiden's Blush which was supposed to be Alba Maxima. This will be its second season here and it definitely IS Great Maiden's Blush because I already grow GMB and they match exactly. Years ago I ordered Paul Ricault and got Gros Choux de Hollande instead. I wrote a letter to Pickering with photos and they agreed what they sent wasn't PR....the next spring they sent me a replacement and it was ALSO Gros Choux de Hollande! I ordered Nevada and got its pink sport, Marguerite Hilling instead. I'm not the type to make a stink, so I've just let it slide. In the meantime, the mislabelled roses have become part of my rose family and even though I didn't count on these roses, a beautiful rose is never a mistake in my eyes. I just hadn't planned on TWO of some of them! Celeste

If you want Petrovic roses, you can order it on this website, but you must translate page to English first : http://www.vrtnicekodele.si/ I know the owner and she told me, that sometimes she sends rose orders to other EU countries (but I do not know about UK). She arranges all required legal papers for import from Serbia to EU. Melissa, I first ordered from PetroviÃÂ last year. Mostly OGRs and some Austins. I ordered bourbons, hyb. perpetuals and teas. In our country there are many rose lovers, who have PetroviÃÂ roses for some years now and his roses are highly praised. Campanula, I ordered roses from UK last year (Peter Beales) and they were travelling for almost two weeks. When I finally received them, they were not in best condition, but despite this, they are growing pretty well. This year I ordered from Trevor White.
