Comments (4)sunnyside Hardening off -- I absolutely agree. A step that means whether your plants will live or die out in the garden is completely left out. This is the kind of information that people new to gardening must know, and there seem to be a lot this year just on Garden Web. It's certainly as critical as information about when to plant them. The information is about growing bell peppers. I wish it had also mentioned drainage in the containers. Some people don't know that either!...See MoreTransplanting a young seedling
Comments (0)I have a seedling in a seed starter tray, it is one of the two seedlings that actually sprouted from last time I planted. I want to use the tray again, so I am considering transferring it to a small pot for growing some more. It is a Hawaiian Baby Woodrose. It is the younger of the two sprouts. It's also presently under a humidity tent, so I'll probably just move it over to a new pot, and that will be the only thing that changes. I will still keep it under a humidity tent and everything. But do you think it will survive the transplant? If I get it done quickly, then it should be ok, right? Thanks....See MoreTransplanting a young transplant
Comments (4)Since it hasn't been in the ground that long, and if you don't mess with the roots much, shouldn't it be fine to move now? Move it now on the first good day when the soil is dry. You don't want the taproot to get established in the temporary spot....See MoreIt's official! World's Tallest Amaranth
Comments (45)There use to be these toys called 'Battle Beasts' back in the 80's. You rub the little sticker on the front and it would be fire, water, or wood. Fire beats wood, wood beats water, and water beats fire. That's sort of what is going on with this whole situation. Guinness website and Guinness 2009 book - beats - photoshop pics and two eagle eyed NYS weights and measures guys who can't figure out if they are using the centimeter or inch side of the tape measure. There is no reason for a controversy over getting in the Guinness Book of World Records. It's a big book and there is room in it for everyone. There are plenty of other records out there to beat for 2010. There are still open records out there, such as: 'Tallest tale', or 'Most excuses why I didn't make the 2009 GWR book' and my favorite, 'Most tears to dribble down a cheek in 60 seconds'....See Moretrip_kc
