Check with the locals including the cooperative extension service (TA&M) about what type to use but a drip system is the most cost efficient. Cost of installation of a system like this would, should I say, be very expensive.

I agree whole heartedly with petzold6596. They have the info and the willingness to help you with this large undertaking. Two things. One, draw up a sketch to scale and measure linear feet runs to supply the trees. This would be a mainline. Check prices in your area for schedule 40 pvc pipe 1 1/2" and 2" pvc pipe at the local hardware store (this doesn't account for irrigation fittings per tree). Count the number of trees and multiply by about $200 per tree (25 gal) depending on the size you want to plant and the speed of growth of the tree. Check the other forums about what would be a good interesting tree or trees for you area. Trees usually like infrequent soakings. Ask about a irrigation system that waters like that. Then two, aesthetically group trees somewhat together in odd numbers (with offsets) with differing size spaces between the groups around the perimeter. This will be a more pleasing natural look. Check out some landscaping design books before planting. This is not a small undertaking and getting bids from local landscapers might be worthwhile. Prices for landscapers are good right now.
