Problems with McCulloch chain saw
Comments (11)Thanks for the parts diagram but I am nor sure if it helps with my current problem. The problem remains where the other pipe from the fuel tank should go. It is definitely not to the carb with my saw. IT seemed to be coming from a gap in the casing that led to the lower side of the engine. There is a brass ferrel in the pipe and I have convinced myself that it is some sort of system that uses pressure from the crankcase to pressurize the fuel tank but I am not sure where I got that from! Fact is despite pressure washing the engine, I just cannot see where the pipe should go. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated....See MoreMcCulloch Mac 10-10 Fuel Mix?
Comments (6)Info : I agree with Canguy , 40:1 with premium grade synthetic oil will suffice. I personally use Amsoil Sabre up to 70:1 on 60,s vintage saws without any concerns. But any quality Syn oil will given you great performance and protection for any of these older saws. P.S. If any require a manual check out the Chainsawr Site for a download .aka Ewalk !...See MoreMcCULLOCH 10-10s saw
Comments (12)I have not gotten into the Mac 10-10 at this point far enough to know the vintage, but, the price was right. I had to dispose of some copper at our local recycler. Anyway, while there I am always nosing around for stuff! Looked in the aluminum pile and there were about 15 Poulans, all apart, and this one vintage Mac 10-10! It had a repair tag on it and the pull rope was broken. Traded the copper for the Mac, got it home, cleaned it up, got the old rope out and replaced, cleaned out all the oily sawdust residue, put it together, filled it with, 20:1 and chain oil, and to my amazement, 3 pulls and it was off and running. This model has the chain brake and left side start pull. Any help on the vintage is welcome. Serial number 13-34485 and Model # 6000130 I think....See MoreMcCulloch Pro-Mac 1000
Comments (1)Problem will be getting anything for these old saws. The original Mac saw company is long gone. What is left is in name only, just cheap Chinese junk. Someone may know of a place who handles obsolete parts that can help. Suggest an additional post at the chain saw forum at the Arborsite. Better chance of finding someone there with a source.
