The Ultimate Challenge! Name that perennial...

You all were great with identifying the last 2 mystery perennials I posted (foxglove and poppy). The situation is the same...My husband has a friend who just moved into a house with a huge flower garden that he wants to convert into a vegetable garden. He's offering it all to us free! Only problem...we don't know what most of it is (we are new to gardening ourselves). So we need help identifying it so we can figure out the best way to plant (sun/shade, protect from deer, etc.) I've posted a link to an album with 27 mystery perennials. here's my guesses, take with a grain of salt:
1 - definitely a mustard plant of some kind, but that's all i can say. most likely a weed.
2 - looks like an Astilbe
3 - Tradescantia
4 - i'd go with lily too, hard to say what kind without flowers
5 - strawberry
6 - honeysuckle
7 - clematis, some horticultural type. i'm not familiar with cultivar names.
8 - i've always called these bluebells too
9, 10, 11 - no clue
12 - not really sure, could be an evening primrose
13 - no clue
14 - looks like another lily
15 - no clue
16 - Monarda
17 - wallflower?
18 - campanula?
19 - no clue
20 - forget-me-not?
21 - dame's rocket?
22 - no clue
23 - maybe some kind of mallow?
24 - no clue
25 - lily yes, probably asiatic or oriental
26 - camassia?
27 - no clue

#9 Looks weedy. Maybe giant ragweed?

#15 Are those strappy leaves part of the round bloom? Look up ornamental allium, like 'Purple Sensation.'

#19 & 20 'Jack Frost' brunnera. Very desirable perennial.

#22 looks like 'Wine & Roses' weigelia.

#23/24 alchemilla, lady's mantle

#27 either a weed or a goldenrod. I have a hard time deciding which is which from photos alone.

Tapla and Justaguy, I wanted to point out your dislike of organics in containers was reaffirmed by Ray's experiment. I know the problems associated with using organics in containers and that researchers have tried to obtain results equal to conventional methods with much tweaking of the organic systems and have had some success. But Ray's experiments last year certainly back up your contentions in other threads that using organics in containers would give disappointing results. At least it certainly did using Fox Farm vs the old formula of Tomato Tone. The old T.T. formula was a mix of synthetics and organics and look at the results in Ray's picture--the tomato with lots of fruits on the right (TT) VS the pitiful organic one (Foxfarm) next to it that you can barely make out. Even Ray's miracle gro soil mix WITH fertilizer did not help Fox Farm. Now having said this I have had good results growing certain vegetables organically in containers. Perhaps they would been bigger with synthetics but I was happy with the results. I certainly would not be happy with the results that Ray got with Fox Farm and was surprised the difference was that dramatic. By the way I use both synthetic and organics fertilizers but I am interested in improving organic results particular when told it just can't be done. Any chance that some of the non-plant ingredients are soil-type microbes that would help the organic fertilizer breakdown and be utilized in containers? Ray, I also noted the change in the formulas on my old bags of TT and the new. I was disappointed that they did this as I liked the higher potassium and the synthetic components ameliorate some of the organic drawbacks. I already had Plant-tone if I wanted to go purely organic. As far as your new experiment, it will be interesting to see how the new TT with all the biological microbes stacks up to the old. Also the ferts, in the Miracle Gro are long gone now and won't impact the experiment.

Update photos please?:) I just stumbled on this thread. Seems like it's been a few years, I'm so curious how it all turned out. I've got dilemmas in my garden too, although for different reasons. But my location is also shady. In your case, there r so many scenarios possible, I've already imagined your slope in quite a few different ones. Up to the point where you started marinating on the flagstones. I wonder what you chose to do :)

Oh, Tiffy, I have absolutely no idea what the name of that azalea is. That bush was here when I bought my house 10 years ago. That pic does not do it justice, it was gorgeous this year. (That was a pic I almost erased before posting the link to my album!) Marianne: All I can say is take as many photos as possible and make good use of your zoom lens! The absolute joy of digital is being able to take a hundred pictures of one thing and being able to dump the 99 that didn't work. I just use a point and shoot, and I honestly 99% of the time use the auto setting. My first Panasonic had a 6 optical zoom. This new one only has 5, and I really miss that extra 1. Pitimpinai, oooh, I love that clematis. Purple is my favorite color! I have several clematises, but I think somehow they mostly ended up dark purple. I would really like to get a large white one. A couple streets away from me, someone has one on their fence and I just drool every time it blooms. Bonnie: If you're still following this! That yarrow I think is Moonshine...moonbeam? I love it. It's the only achillea I still have left in my garden. The others have all come and gone. Did I miss any other questions? I think someone asked about the name of the salvia. I don't know, I'm sorry. I am VERY type B about that kinda stuff and I never keep track of names. I do well to remember the official name :) Everytime I post over at the daylily forum I have to begin my post with "I'm sorry I don't know the name of this ...I just want to share....or....look at my beautiful seeding...uh, I have no idea who the parents are!!" I always feel so inadequate when I have to admit that! Aliska, I'm going to try to fiddle with some of the settings. I do enjoy taking photos. A friend of mine is raising her granddaughter and I am the official photographer. I keep a normal photobook with a tons of pictures in it, but since she was two I have been making books for her chronicling her year (This is the year I was two, these are my adventures when I was three...) Have you seen Shutterfly? I upload the pictures all year to there and then after her birthday I write the dialogue and pick the photos and presto, a hard bound book arrives. I have thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed doing that. I don't really have any memories of my early childhood, so I wanted to make sure she will always remember all the fun times we had. She loves reading the books. We used to read them as bedtime stories! Uh....grab a cuppa tea, I'm really going off topic! (like I haven't been!) Here's one of my photos that I just love. It was a total accident. My nephew pointed out to me later that I had a "sports" setting on my camera :) But then I wouldn't have got this cool pic! We were at a tiny rodeo in Beaver Creek Colorado when I took this.

Disagree with clematis ID :-) 'Josephine' is a pink flowered double, with darker pink bars. The one pictured both appears to be and is described as "lilac blue" -- IMO, 'Vyvyan Pennell' is a much more likely choice.
